PT Bumi Resources Tbk., (“BUMI” or “The Company”) through its business unit PT Kaltim Prima Coal
(“KPC”) won the Tamasya Award (Tambang Mensejahterakan Masyarakat) - Mining for Community
Prosperity for the year 2022 from the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for Large
Coal company category. The award was conferred by Acting Director General of Mineral and Coal
(Minerba) Bambang Suswantono and received by KPC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ashok Mitra, in
Jakarta (8/12).
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), through an independent team, assessed that
the KPC Community Empowerment Program (PPM) was successful in providing benefits to the
surrounding community.
President Director of PT Bumi Resources Tbk., Mr. Adika Nuraga Bakrie stated, “The company
expresses its gratitude for the prestigious Tambang Mensejahterakan Masyarakat Award for the 2022
period from ESDM. This award proves the Company's commitment to consistently providing added
value to the community and environment where the Company operates, and to the PPM program in
accordance with ESDM regulations.”
He added that, “The commitment made by the Company is not merely a program but has become the
embedded Core Competences of its business, allowing it to carry out the best practices, contribute to
creating independence in society which undoubtedly contributes directly to the realization of SDGs and
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) aspects as stated in Law no. 40 of 2007 concerning
Limited Liability Companies.”
The assessment assigned by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for the Tamasyara Award
2023 was chosen from academicians, including Siwi Gayatri, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D (Diponegoro University
Semarang), Dr. Hayati Sari Hasibuan, S.T., M.T. (University of Indonesia) and Dr. Drs. Suyud Warno
Utomo, M.Sc. (University of Indonesia).
This assessment team conducted a field visit to directly see and interview the beneficiaries of the PPM
program, on 24-25 August 2023.

The visit included several locations, namely the Batik Paku Workshop in South Sangatta, the
Composting Training Center managed by RKPL (Andika), the Integrated Waste Management Site
(TPST) and maggot, SMAN 1 South Sangatta for the Independent P5 Curriculum Program and the
Climate Village Program in Rindang Benua.
In the PPM Program assessment, KPC was included in the large-scale company category because it has
production of more than 10 million tons per year. The assessment consisted of several things, namely
the success achievements of PPM by showing data on the percentage of fund absorption and the number
of beneficiaries, the 2022 and 2023 RKAB documents for the PPM section, the PPM Master Plan
documents CHAPTER and CHAPTER V regarding Success Criteria.
