CDI Group Inaugurated Boreas Vessel, Strengthens Maritime Logistics
Infrastructure
Jakarta, April 6, 2026 – PT Chandra Daya Investasi Tbk (CDI Group), through its subsidiary PT
Chandra Shipping International (CSI), has officially inaugurated its latest chemical logistics
vessel with a capacity of 9,000 DWT, named Boreas. The vessel is designed to transport various
liquid chemical products and will serve both domestic and international routes, with operations
targeted to commence in June 2026.
The inauguration of Boreas is part of CDI Group’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its maritime
logistics system while enhancing the reliability of industrial distribution networks. As the energy
and chemical sectors continue to grow in the region, the demand for efficient, safe, and integrated
logistics services becomes increasingly critical to ensure the smooth flow of industrial supply
chains.
This fleet expansion is expected to enhance CDI Group’s maritime logistics capacity and service
flexibility. In addition to supporting distribution needs within the Chandra Asri Group ecosystem,
the Boreas vessel will also serve external customers across various industrial sectors. With an
operational reach spanning trade routes from Asia to Europe, the vessel plays a strategic role in
facilitating the distribution of key chemical commodities and strengthening cross regional trade
connectivity.
The introduction of Boreas reflects CDI Group’s commitment to developing an integrated,
internationally standardized maritime logistics infrastructure. This additional fleet further
strengthens the company’s capability to provide reliable distribution services, supporting Chandra
Asri Group’s operations while also meeting the needs of broader industry partners. This
investment forms part of CDI Group’s long-term vision to enhance national industrial
competitiveness through efficient and sustainable supply chain systems.
During its construction, CSI collaborated with Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a Japan-based
shipyard with a strong global reputation for high-quality shipbuilding. This partnership ensures
that Boreas is built to modern technical standards, with optimal operational efficiency and safety
systems that comply with international regulations.
Moving forward, CDI Group will continue to strengthen its infrastructure portfolio through fleet
expansion and broader logistics service integration. This step reinforces CDI Group’s position as
a provider of industrial infrastructure solutions that not only support internal group growth but also
contribute to strengthening the national and regional industrial ecosystem.
