Perubahan gaya hidup masyarakat Indonesia saat ini memang membuat retailer sudah tidak bisa
bergantung sepenuhnya pada satu saluran penjualan saja. Melalui masa pandemi, masyarakat
secara tidak sengaja harus mendekatkan diri dengan digitalisasi dan menjadi terbiasa dengan

“Di Indonesia penggunaan transaksi secara online di berbagai sektor industri secara presentase
terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun dengan nilai yang dihabiskan mencapai ratusan triliun.
Beberapa kontribusi terbesar adalah dari kategori kebutuhan rumah tangga serta layanan
groceries online yang masih bertumbuh hingga saat ini. Melihat peluang ini, saya berharap tidak
hanya dapat mendorong pertumbuhan dari sisi penjualan gerai offline saja, namun juga dapat
membesarkan aplikasi online kami serta penjualan online melalui partner layanan digital yang

  MPPA APPOINTS NEW CEO TO STRENGTHEN DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND
                      OMNICHANNEL STRATEGY

Tangerang, 30th August 2023 – PT Matahari Putra Prima, Tbk (“MPPA”) through the TERBIT
(Transformation Excellence in Retail Business for Immediate Turnaround) transformation
program, under the leadership of Wim Maris, has recorded a positive trend in operating profit
through improvements in cost structure, productivities and innovation in several offline stores.

To strengthen the Omni-channel retail strategy going forward, MPPA President Director Adrian
Suherman will concurrently serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), replacing Wim Maris effective
August 29, 2023, alongside Jerry Goei as Deputy CEO. Adrian Suherman's profile is well known in
the worlds of technology and retail. He has served as Vice President of PT Telkomsel, CEO of PT
aCommerce, and CEO of PT Visionet International (OVO). Currently, he also serves as President
and Commissioner of PT Multipolar Technology Tbk, President and Director of PT Multipolar Tbk,
and Commissioner of PT Matahari Department Store.

Meanwhile, Jerry has operational experience in various. He currently serves as Chief Operating
Officer of PT Multipolar Tbk and Commissioner of several subsidiaries of PT Multipolar Tbk. Jerry
previously held various top executive positions in various companies, including Managing Director
& Head of Operation of Northstar Group, one of Indonesia's leading private equity company,
Country Director of AkzoNobel Group in Indonesia also President Director and CEO of PT ICI Paints
Indonesia (Dulux), one of AkzoNobel's largest subsidiaries in Indonesia.

In this era, retailers cannot entirely rely on a single sales channel due to the changing behaviour
of people in Indonesia. People unwittingly become closer to digitalization during the pandemic
phase because they get used to comfort and ease of digital technology and innovation. Therefore,
MPPA, as a supermarket chain retailer in Indonesia, must also have a fairly broad strategy in
considering every potential sales channel in accordance with the present demands of the
Indonesian population today.

"In Indonesia, the proportion of online transactions in various industry sectors continues to
increase with the value spending has surpassed a hundred of trillions Rupiah. Some of the biggest
contributions are from household goods and online groceries services which are still growing
today. Seeing this opportunity, we have confidence to boost growth not only in terms of offline
store sales but also from the e-commerce services that we manage and also through digital
service partners who have collaborated with MPPA”, Adrian Suherman made his first remarks as
