PRESS RELEASE MD Entertainment and SBS Deepen Strategic Partnership with New Content Cooperation MOU Jakarta, 29 September 2026 — PT MD Entertainment Tbk (IDX: FILM) (“MD Entertainment” or “the Company”), and SBS Co., Ltd. (“SBS”) today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Cooperation in the Content and Media Business, executed at 14:00 WIB at MD Place, Jakarta. The MOU sets out a framework for pairing SBS’s content intellectual property with MD Entertainment’s production and distribution strength in Indonesia. The agreement builds on a relationship the two companies established last year, when SBS became a strategic shareholder of MD Entertainment through its participation in the Company’s Rights Issue I (“PMHMETD I”) for a total investment of approximately USD 20 million, the largest overseas investment SBS has made in its history. That strategic entry is now moving into an operating partnership, with SBS and MD Entertainment set to deepen content and platform cooperation and jointly pursue opportunities across Southeast Asia and other global markets, with Indonesia serving as a strategic hub. As an initial step, the two companies have agreed to bring SBS’s popular programming to Indonesian audiences through MDTV, and to develop Indonesian-language remakes drawn from SBS’s content library. Cooperation is expected to expand gradually from there into advertising and brand marketing, live performances, and other businesses built around shared intellectual property. Hong Sung-Chang, CEO of Studio S, who represented SBS President Bang Moon-shin at the signing, said, “SBS’s strategic investment in MD Entertainment last year was driven by our strong confidence in the growth potential of the Southeast Asian content market, MD Entertainment’s business capabilities, and the synergies that the two companies can create together. This MOU marks an important starting point for translating last year’s strategic investment into tangible business results and building long-term growth.” Manoj Punjabi, President Director of MD Entertainment, said, “We are combining what each of us does best — SBS's world-class content, and MD Entertainment's strength across the Indonesian market. SBS's investment in us last year reflected real confidence in what we've built, and this MOU is where we turn that confidence into action together, marking the start of a partnership we expect to grow far beyond Southeast Asia." With a population of approximately 280 million, Indonesia continues to see rising demand for local content, while its digital media market, including OTT platforms, is expanding rapidly — making it an increasingly attractive base for global content companies seeking a stronger presence in the region.
