Chandra Asri Clarification Regarding Force Majeure News
Jakarta, March 5, 2026 - PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk, a leading integrated energy,
chemical, and infrastructure solutions provider in Southeast Asia, provides clarification
regarding the force majeure notification issued to customers amid global geopolitical
dynamics that may affect energy distribution routes and international supply chains,
including developments in the Strait of Hormuz.
The force majeure notification is a preventive measure that must be taken administratively in
accordance with contractual provisions, serving as a form of risk mitigation against potential
losses and ensuring transparency regarding external conditions beyond the Company’s
control.
Director of Human Resources & Corporate Affairs of Chandra Asri Group, Suryandi,
explained that the issuance of a force majeure notification is a common procedure in global
business practices when there is a potential disruption, including to international logistics
routes, “This step is taken as a form of transparency and to prevent significant losses to our
business partners and stakeholders. The force majeure notification does not necessarily
reflect a halt in the Company’s operations, but rather forms part of our risk mitigation efforts
in response to the evolving external situation,” said Suryandi.
He added that, to date, the Company’s operational activities continue to run as normal.
Nevertheless, the Company continues to closely monitor global developments and conduct
periodic evaluations of potential implications that could disrupt its operations, either directly
or indirectly.
As part of prudent risk management, Chandra Asri is selectively adjusting its operational run
rates in accordance with supply conditions and production needs. This measure is taken to
maintain business continuity and ensure the stability of supply to customers.
In addition, the Company maintains a risk management framework and operational planning
system designed to respond adaptively to market dynamics. These efforts include
diversifying sources of raw materials, maintaining prudent inventory management, and
strengthening coordination across the supply chain to preserve operational flexibility.
Communication and coordination with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners are also
carried out on an ongoing basis to ensure alignment of information and readiness to
anticipate conditions that may affect the fulfillment of contractual obligations. In this dynamic
global environment, Chandra Asri remains focused on operational continuity and business
resilience, while continuously evaluating ongoing developments.
