Chandra Asri Group Wins Green Industry Awards 2025 in
The Transformation Toward Green Industry Category

Jakarta, August 21, 2025 – PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group), a
leading provider of energy, chemical, and infrastructure solutions in Southeast Asia,
received recognition at the 2025 Green Industry Awards organized by the Ministry of
Industry of the Republic of Indonesia in the category of Transformation Toward Green
Industry. At this event, Chandra Asri Group’s Pulo Ampel Plant achieved the top rank
(1st place), while the Ciwandan Plant also recorded an achievement by securing 4th
place in the same category.
The Green Industry Awards is an annual program by the Ministry of Industry aimed at
encouraging the decarbonization agenda in the industrial sector through the
implementation of sustainability principles.
Chandra Asri Group’s achievement in the Transformation Toward Green Industry
category is evidenced by a 14.2% reduction in carbon emissions since its 2018
baseline year. The Company’s decarbonization agenda is carried out through
strategies focused on energy efficiency, expansion of environmentally friendly
businesses, utilization of renewable energy, adoption of low-carbon technologies, and
the implementation of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS).
In addition to its decarbonization agenda, Chandra Asri Group also applies circular
economy principles through various waste management initiatives. These include
converting plastic waste into pyrolysis oil under the PLUSRI program, implementing
plastic asphalt using low-value shredded plastic through the CIRCLO product, and
adopting RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel) cofiring that converts waste into alternative fuel.
These efforts support the Company in building a sustainable resource management
ecosystem.
Director of Legal, External Relations, and Circular Economy Chandra Asri
Group, Edi Rivai, stated, “The Green Industry Award from the Ministry of Industry
highlights Chandra Asri Group’s consistency in delivering a low-carbon industry while
also building a circular economy ecosystem in Indonesia. This step is crucial to
supporting Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission 2060 target and enhancing national industry
competitiveness in a global market that increasingly demands sustainable business
practices. The success in reducing our carbon footprint and developing circular
economy solutions forms an essential foundation for the future sustainability of the
industry.” Edi stated.
Through this award, Chandra Asri Group reaffirms its commitment to contributing to
the government’s agenda of transforming toward a green industry, in alignment with
the achievement of national decarbonization targets.

At the 2025 Green Industry Award event ceremony, Minister of Industry Agus
Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized the importance of transforming industry toward
a greener direction as part of the nation’s broader development strategy. Today, the
manufacturing industry faces major challenges, ranging from geopolitical and
geoeconomic dynamics to global demands for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Therefore, transformation toward green industry should not be seen as a cost, but
rather as an investment in building sustainable business.
