Elnusa Launches PERTASTREAM, Indonesia’s First Ultrasonic Pipeline Inspection Tool A
 Concrete Milestone of BUMN Synergy for National Energy Technology Independence
Cilegon, August 19, 2025 – PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi under Pertamina’s Subholding Upstream, in collaboration with
PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Pindad, officially launched PERTASTREAM, the first ultrasonic pipeline inspection tool fully developed in Indonesia. The launch
took place at PT Elnusa Fabrikasi Konstruksi (EFK) facilities in Merak, Banten, as part of an exhibition showcasing technological innovations by Indonesian
talents.

PERTASTREAM is an In-Line Inspection Intelligence Pigging Ultrasonic (ILI UT) tool designed to precisely assess the internal condition of oil and gas pipelines.
It is capable of detecting corrosion, cracks, and deformations, as well as mapping pipeline thickness. With an accuracy level of up to 90% at inspection speeds
between 0.1–1 meter per second, the technology can identify complex anomalies such as stress corrosion cracking (SCC), while processing large volumes of
data with optimal signal quality.

Indonesia currently operates an oil and gas pipeline network spanning more than 21,000 kilometers. Through the innovation of PERTASTREAM, revenue
potential from pipeline inspection and maintenance activities can be optimized, while simultaneously supporting the sustainability of national oil and gas
operations with more efficient and competitive costs. Furthermore, this technology can be applied across upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors,
providing tangible benefits throughout the entire oil and gas value chain.

Compared to conventional Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) methods, PERTASTREAM is lighter, more efficient, and compatible with both inspection and
mechanical de-coking processes. This innovation strengthens national oil and gas industry independence while supporting the Domestic Component Level
(Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri / TKDN) program.

The development of PERTASTREAM reflects strategic synergy among Indonesia’s state-owned enterprises. Elnusa, through EFK, handled the design,
fabrication, and prototype testing; Pertamina supported research and technology integration; while Pindad contributed high-precision mechanical
component production. Moving forward, this product is expected to be widely utilized within Pertamina Group synergy, creating maximum value for both
the company and the nation.

Elnusa’s President Director, Bachtiar Soeria Atmadja, emphasized that this innovation marks a major milestone for national energy independence.
“PERTASTREAM is not merely a technical solution but a symbol of collaborative independence in building a sustainable energy future for Indonesia. This also
represents the official launch of the first In-Line Inspection (ILI) tool fully developed in Indonesia,” said Bachtiar.

He further added, “This collaboration is also part of a broader synergy to accelerate the implementation of the Government’s Asta Cita program, particularly
the second pillar: strengthening national defense and security while advancing self-sufficiency through energy independence,” Bachtiar continued.
