CA-EDC Facility Construction Reaches 72% Completion, Reinforcing
Operational Readiness for 2027
Jakarta, 20 July 2026 - PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group), a leading energy,
chemicals, and infrastructure solutions provider in Southeast Asia, through its subsidiary PT
Chandra Asri Alkali (CAA), continues the construction of its Chlor Alkali and Ethylene Dichloride
(CA-EDC) facility, a strategic project with an investment value of more than USD 800 million. As
of July 2026, construction progress has reached 72%, marking a significant milestone in
supporting operational readiness, with commercial operations targeted to commence in 2027.
In line with this progress, the Company has also begun preparing the Phase II development of
the CA-EDC facility through a feasibility study as part of its long-term strategy to strengthen
production capacity. This next phase of development is estimated to require an investment of
USD 1 billion. This initiative reflects Chandra Asri Group's commitment to supporting the growth
of Indonesia's chemical industry by providing increasingly reliable and competitive strategic raw
materials.
In addition to strengthening the resilience of the national industry, the CA-EDC project is also
expected to generate broader economic benefits through job creation and the empowerment of
local businesses. To date, the construction phase has involved approximately 3,000 workers,
and once the facility is fully operational, it is projected to create approximately 250 jobs.
Construction of the Phase I CA-EDC facility has reached 72% completion. Upon
commencement of operations, the facility will have an annual production capacity of up to 827

thousand tons of liquid caustic soda and 500 thousand tons of Ethylene Dichloride (EDC),
supporting the growing needs of Indonesia's domestic industries.
Erwin Ciputra, President Director & CEO of Chandra Asri Group, said, "The progress of the
CA-EDC facility construction reflects Chandra Asri's commitment to strengthening the foundation
of Indonesia's chemical industry. Going forward, through the Phase II feasibility study and the
development of supporting infrastructure, we aim to establish a more integrated production and
distribution ecosystem that will enhance the reliability of basic chemical supplies for domestic
industries while strengthening Indonesia's position in the regional supply chain."
In addition, Chandra Asri Group continues to develop supporting infrastructure that will enable
the integrated operation of the facility. This development includes distribution, storage, and
logistics management facilities for CA-EDC products, which will strengthen the connectivity of
Indonesia's and the regional chemical industry supply chains.
The CA-EDC facility construction project has completed the installation of the pipe rack on the
jetty trestle (the access bridge connecting to the jetty). The pipe rack installation was carried out
using a modular construction method to accelerate the installation process while improving
construction efficiency.

The jetty infrastructure at the CA-EDC facility is designed to support a seamless logistics chain
through the loading and unloading of raw materials and product distribution. This infrastructure
is essential to support the facility's operational readiness more efficiently and is targeted to
commence operations in 2027.
Once operational, the CA-EDC facility is expected to enhance the reliability of caustic soda supply
for various industrial sectors while reducing Indonesia's dependence on imports. In the long term,
liquid caustic soda production from the facility is projected to potentially substitute imports of up
to 827 thousand tons per year, valued at approximately USD 293 million (around IDR 4.9 trillion).
Meanwhile, EDC production will be directed toward export markets and is expected to generate
export revenues of up to USD 300 million (around IDR 5 trillion) annually.
Through the development of the CA-EDC facility and its supporting infrastructure, Chandra Asri
Group continues to strengthen its contribution to advancing the self-reliance of Indonesia's
chemical industry by providing strategic basic chemicals and developing a more integrated,
competitive, and sustainable industrial ecosystem.
