FOUNDER’S DAY – 20th September 2024
BCP Mangroves Planting
DESCRIPTION : On Friday, September 20, 2024, Bata Indonesia kicked off its Founder's Day celebration at the Mangrove Nature Tourism Park (TWA) in Angke with the Bata
Children Program. BCP volunteers, department heads, and country manager Mr. Anirban Ghosh gathered for the event. The day featured a symbolic planting of mangrove seedlings and a
certificate presentation to PT Sepatu Bata Tbk, marking our second mangrove planting effort following the June 7, 2024, event. 20 volunteers then planted mangrove trees in the swamp and
installed signage for the
Bata and Bata Children Program. This initiative aims to raise environmental awareness, enhance biodiversity, and engage the community in conservation efforts. It also highlights the role of
mangroves
in combating climate change, showcasing Bata Indonesia’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
IMPACT: The mangrove planting activity enhances biodiversity by supporting various species, protects coastlines from erosion and storms, helps absorb carbon dioxide to combat climate
change, and
creates habitats for wildlife. It fosters community involvement and raises awareness about environmental conservation, offering educational opportunities for participants and locals.
Additionally, it can bring economic benefits through eco-tourism and fishing, while promoting sustainable land and resource management for future generations.

BCP WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2025
No Plastic Pollution & Mangroves Planting (12th June 2025)
DESCRIPTION : To celebrate World Environment Day 2025, a collaborative environmental education and action program was held at Pulau Untung Jawa, involving 100
students from SDN 01 and SMPN 285, along with 40 volunteers from Bata, Sehati community, Danramil, teachers, Kelurahan, and Dishub. Activities included an interactive
session on plastic pollution, fun educational games, and mangrove planting to promote ecosystem restoration. This initiative strengthened awareness, encouraged responsible
consumption, and fostered teamwork between students, communities, and corporate volunteers for a greener future.
IMPACT : The event boosted environmental awareness among 100 students through an engaging plastic-waste session and hands-on mangrove planting, fostering
stewardship while uniting 40 corporate, government, and community volunteers. Besides educating participants, the new mangroves will bolster coastal biodiversity and
resilience, making the initiative both collaborative and ecologically lasting.
