This initiative was presented as part of the 4th Branch Jamboree of the Depok City Scout Council (Kwarcab), which took place on 5–8 May 2025 at the Cibubur Camping Ground and Tourism Hall (Buperta Cibubur). Carrying an educational and participatory spirit, the EDISI program engaged more than 500 elementary and junior high school students from the Depok area. Elnusa conducted various interactive sessions on environmental topics to instill the importance of protecting the planet from an early age. The educational materials included climate change awareness, renewable energy introduction, waste management, circular economy concepts, and an overview of Elnusa’s business lines as an energy services provider supporting sustainability. One of the main highlights of the event was the introduction of the Reverse Vending Machine (RVM), a plastic waste management innovation from a collaboration between Elnusa and Plasticpay. Through this machine, participants could exchange used plastic bottles for digital points, which could then be redeemed for eco-friendly rewards. This engaging and educational approach allowed students to directly experience the principles of the circular economy and sustainable living. Chairwoman of Depok City Kwarcab, Nina Suzana, expressed her appreciation for Elnusa’s involvement in this initiative. “Through the EDISI program, our Scouts are being instilled with environmental awareness values, as they are the future leaders who must understand the importance of sustainability,” said Nina. Elnusa’s Corporate Secretary, Frida Lidwina, emphasized that the company’s participation in this event is part of its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 13 (Climate Action). “We believe that education is a key driver in building a more sustainable future. The presence of the RVM machine is a tangible form of synergy between the business sector, education, and the community in cultivating responsible, modern, and impactful plastic waste management behavior,” said Frida. Through this campaign, Elnusa seeks to inspire the public—especially the younger generation—to see plastic waste not merely as trash, but as an opportunity for change. By introducing technology-based educational initiatives such as the Reverse Vending Machine (RVM), the campaign highlights the importance of recycling, individual responsibility, and community engagement in creating a more environmentally conscious lifestyle. In line with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, Elnusa believes that meaningful change can begin with small, collective steps.
