Press Release
Elnusa’s CSR Program Achievements in 2024 Reach Over 93
Thousand Beneficiaries
Jakarta, 9 January 2025 – Throughout 2024, PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa), a subsidiary of Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, successfully implemented 39 Corporate Social
and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs. These programs, managed in consolidation with Elnusa's subsidiaries, spanned various strategic areas aligned with
the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This achievement underscores Elnusa's unwavering commitment to creating a positive impact on
communities, particularly in the areas surrounding its operational sites.
Elnusa’s TJSL initiatives in 2024 covered diverse areas, including environmental sustainability, economic development, social empowerment, education, and health.
Education emerged as the primary focus, contributing 28% of the total efforts, followed by economic initiatives at 26%, environmental and health programs at 18%
each, and social initiatives at 8%. These programs were holistically designed to ensure sustainability and relevance to community needs.
One of the flagship programs, Desa Energi Berdikari (Elnusa Sumengko Independent Energy Village), aimed to transform Sumengko Village into a self-sustaining energy
hub that delivers tangible benefits to the local community. This program integrates ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles and supports several SDG
objectives, including Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Through a community empowerment approach, the program involved local residents in managing toga (traditional herbal plants), starting from land preparation to
processing these plants into market-ready products. Sumengko Village was selected based on a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) between Elnusa and local stakeholders,
which identified the community’s potential and needs in the vicinity of Elnusa’s operational area.
Another notable program, Merajut Karya Bersama Sahabat Istimewa Elnusa (Mekar Bestie), also highlighted Elnusa’s CSR efforts from late 2023 through 2024. This
initiative provided training and mentoring to Elnusa’s Sahabat Istimewa (Special Friends), a group of individuals with disabilities skilled in sewing, pattern-making, and
processing felt materials from plastic waste. Their creative products contribute not only as expressions of artistic innovation but also to potential carbon emission
reductions of 2.9 million tons CO2e. These products, crafted from vending machine plastic waste sourced from Graha Elnusa and several malls in Jakarta, were utilized
as corporate hampers, representing sustainable innovation.
Programs such as Green Action, which focused on environmental conservation, also demonstrated a significant impact, contributing to potential carbon footprint
reductions of 37.6 million tons CO2e. This program reinforced Elnusa’s role as a company committed to environmental preservation.
Jayanty Oktavia Maulina, Elnusa’s Corporate Communication Manager, emphasized the importance of sustainability in every CSR program. “Sustainability is not merely
a goal; it is an integral part of our business strategy. We ensure that Elnusa not only creates positive impacts for communities but also actively supports the achievement
of sustainable development goals. This commitment will remain our priority in the years ahead,” she stated.
In total, Elnusa’s TJSL programs in 2024 positively impacted 93,321 beneficiaries. Environmental programs such as Green Action and Mekar Bestie made concrete
contributions to reducing carbon emissions, aligning with sustainable development objectives.
Through these initiatives, Elnusa continues to strengthen its positive contributions to society and the environment while supporting the sustainability agenda of the
Pertamina Group. This commitment will remain a cornerstone of Elnusa’s journey toward creating a better future for all stakeholders.
