PGE Gathers Elnusa, PertaMC and PGAS Solution to Realize Clean
Energy Transition
Jakarta, 27 June 2024 – PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
actively builds collaboration with various parties to develop the potential of geothermal
energy as the backbone of the national energy transition. Together with PT Elnusa
Tbk (Elnusa), PT PGAS Solution (PGASOL), and PT Pertamina Maintenance and
Construction, (PertaMC), PGE is implementing a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) to
develop technology solutions including opportunities for domestic production of a
number of key components of geothermal power plants.
The signing of the Geothermal Center of Excellence JSA on Thursday, June 27, 2024,
at Graha Pertamina, Jakarta, was attended by PT Pertamina (Persero) Director of
Strategy, Portfolio and Business Development A. Salyadi Saputra, Pertamina New and
Renewable Energy (PNRE) President Director John Anis, PGE President Director Julfi
Hadi, Elnusa Finance Director Stanley Iriawan representing Elnusa President Director,
PGASOL President Director Sabaruddin, and PertaMC President Director Andry
Widiasti. The direct presence of the leaders of the collaborating companies shows the
importance of the JSA which will facilitate discussions, studies, information exchange
platforms, and joint studies for the development of geothermal energy.
PT Pertamina (Persero) Director of Strategy, Portfolio and Business Development A.
Salyadi Saputra appreciated the strategic collaboration to create a geothermal center
of excellence as a geothermal technology solution provider in Indonesia. "This is a
very strategic initiative for Pertamina, which has been managing geothermal in
Indonesia for more than 40 years. This collaboration is expected to support PGE to
achieve its vision of becoming a world class green energy company with the largest
geothermal capacity globally," said A. Salyadi Saputra.
Pertamina New and Renewable Energy (PNRE) President Director John Anis added
that new and renewable energy, especially geothermal energy managed by PGE,
is the future of Pertamina's and Indonesia's business. "Geothermal energy
development faces many challenges and one of the solutions is efficiency to
remain competitive. Bringing the center of excellence to Indonesia will help PGE
become more efficient in developing geothermal."
PGE President Director Julfi Hadi explained that the signing of this JSA is a strategic
step for PGE and its partners in optimizing geothermal energy development by
utilizing domestic industrial capabilities and technological expertise. "This initiative
is an extraordinary effort that should be appreciated together because in the
future there will be innovations and various other collaborations to create a
technology portfolio in renewable energy in a massive and integrated manner. We
are optimistic about the great potential of geothermal to become a driving force
in accelerating the transition to clean energy," said Julfi Hadi.

This JSA includes, but is not limited to, joint studies related to the potential
development of a business portfolio covering: 1) heat exchanger manufacturer, 2)
geothermal operation and maintenance service, 3) cooling tower manufacturer, and
4) EPCC and pipeline construction.
Elnusa President Director Bachtiar Soeria Atmadja said that Elnusa's current
collaboration with PGE is not the first, for that Elnusa is very welcoming and ready
to support and contribute to the development of the geothermal industry. "This
synergy and collaboration reflects Elnusa's commitment to continue to innovate
and make a meaningful contribution in the renewable energy sector, in this case
the Geothermal Center of Excellence," said Bachtiar.
PGASOL President Director Sabaruddin also said "Energy conversion is a new task
for all of us. For this reason, I really appreciate this beneficial synergy. We will
continue to be optimistic and provide support for the country regarding innovation
in the aspect of national energy transition, and one of them is through this joint
study."
PT PertaMC President Director Andry Widiasti stated that he is ready to support
and collaborate for PGE's geothermal energy development through the synergy of
Pertamina Group. "PertaMC, which is a Subsidiary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga
Subholding Commercial & Trading (C&T) that focuses on Maintenance,
Construction, Plant Services including Technical Inspection and Manpower Supply
and Consulting, which serves all lines of business at Pertamina. Not only that,
PertaMC's support not only supports the production of BBM and Gas but also
supports the production of new renewable energy as a form of contribution to the
reduction of Net Zero Emission. Therefore, PertaMC always strengthens its
commitment as a trusted and reliable partner for stakeholders, by continuing to
create sustainable value, improve and develop the Company's competencies and
business to create Pertamina Beyond Synergy." said Andry.
This cooperation is also an initiative of PGE as Pertamina's frontline in the national
energy transition. The JSA will encourage the utilization of the potential
manufacturing capabilities of domestic energy and engineering companies in
creating a new and leading ecosystem in the geothermal sector, especially making
geothermal development more affordable. To date, most of the technology used
for geothermal development is still imported.
Not only that, JSA is a breakthrough to diversify business models and create value
creation from geothermal technology through new revenue streams, exploring
business potential beyond electricity. By synergizing with Pertamina Group, PGE
believes the expansion to create geothermal future revenue streams can increase
competitive advantage, encourage innovation, and commercial attractiveness.
Julfi Hadi emphasized that as a world-class green energy company, PGE continues
to innovate and collaborate with partners to advance the geothermal sector.
"Geothermal is an almost zero-emission energy source with abundant potential,
especially in various PGE Geothermal Working Areas (WKP) with potential that can
be developed up to 3 GW. Geothermal potential must continue to be developed
