Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
terus memperkuat langkah strategis dalam mengoptimalkan
potensi panas bumi nasional melalui Pembangkit Listrik
Tenaga Panas Bumi (PLTP) Lumut Balai Unit 4 berkapasitas
55 megawatt (MW). Proyek yang berlokasi di Wilayah Kerja
Panas Bumi (WKP) Lumut Balai dan Margabayur, Sumatera
Selatan, ini resmi dieksekusi melalui kick off meeting. Eksekusi
proyek ini mengukuhkan rencana pengembangan jangka
panjang Perseroan untuk mendukung percepatan transisi
energi bersih nasional.
Rangkaian pengembangan proyek dimulai dari pembangunan
infrastruktur, pengeboran sumur eksplorasi, uji produksi,
hingga penerbitan Notice of Resource Confirmation (NORC),
dengan target penyelesaian pada Oktober 2027. Sebagai
tahap awal, PGE akan melaksanakan pengeboran tiga sumur
eksplorasi dengan estimasi investasi sebesar USD 32,21 juta.

Yani mengatakan, Melalui pengembangan Proyek PLTP
Lumut Balai Unit 4, PGE tidak hanya berfokus pada
penambahan potensi kapasitas terpasang, tetapi
mencerminkan komitmen Perseroan dalam memastikan
keberlanjutan pasokan energi bersih sekaligus meningkatkan
keandalan portofolio panas bumi nasional. Lebih dari itu,
proyek ini menjadi bagian penting dalam mendukung
pencapaian target bauran energi nasional serta memperkuat
kontribusi Indonesia dalam mewujudkan Net Zero Emissions.
Dari sisi teknis, WKP Lumut Balai memiliki area sumber daya
panas bumi yang luas, berkisar antara 22 hingga 66 km2.
Hasil studi geosains serta simulasi reservoir terbaru
menunjukkan bahwa cadangan eksisting mampu mendukung
pengembangan tambahan kapasitas 55 MW pada Unit 4.
Proyek PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 4 ini ditargetkan beroperasi
secara penuh (commercial operation date/COD) pada 2032,
menggenapkan total kapasitas PGE Area Lumut Balai
mencapai 220 MW, dengan penambahan PLTP Lumut Balai
Unit 3 di tahun 2030.
Direktur Eksplorasi & Pengembangan PT Pertamina
Geothermal Energy Tbk Edwil Suzandi menambahkan bahwa
lokasi pengeboran berada di area yang sangat prospektif
secara geologi.
Area eksplorasi ini terletak di sekitar zona upflow utama
dengan karakteristik permeabilitas tinggi yang telah
terverifikasi melalui berbagai kajian geosains dan studi teknis
secara komprehensif. Dengan dukungan data teknis tersebut,
pengembangan PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 4 ke depan diharapkan
dapat berjalan lebih terarah, efisien, dan memiliki tingkat
keberhasilan yang lebih terukur, jelasnya.
Sementara itu, Direktur Operasi PT Pertamina Geothermal
Energy Tbk Andi Joko Nugroho menegaskan bahwa proyek ini
juga akan berkontribusi pada optimalisasi pengelolaan wilayah
kerja panas bumi secara keseluruhan.
Proyek PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 4 menjadi langkah strategis
untuk meningkatkan cadangan terbukti sekaligus memastikan
keberlanjutan pengembangan WKP Lumut Balai. Eksplorasi ini
berperan penting dalam mendorong realisasi target
pengembangan 1 gigawatt (GW) sebagai bagian dari strategi

ekspansi PGE, ungkapnya.
Proyek Lumut Balai Unit 4 telah tercantum dalam Rencana
Usaha Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik (RUPTL) 2025 - 2034.
Secara komersial, proyek ini memiliki prospek yang kuat
dengan tersedianya Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
ditambah skema eskalasi. Selain itu, pertumbuhan kebutuhan
listrik di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan yang diproyeksikan
mencapai 6,072 persen per tahun turut menjadi faktor
pendukung utama bagi pengembangan proyek ini.
Melalui kombinasi kesiapan teknis, prospek komersial yang
kuat, serta dukungan kebijakan nasional, PGE optimistis
pengembangan Lumut Balai Unit 4 akan memberikan
kontribusi signifikan dalam memperkuat ketahanan energi
nasional berbasis energi bersih yang andal dan berkelanjutan.

Facts continues to strengthen its strategic efforts to optimize the
nations geothermal potential through the 55-megawatt (MW)
Lumut Balai Unit 4 Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP). The
project, located in the Lumut Balai and Margabayur
Geothermal Working Areas (GWAs) in South Sumatra, was
officially launched through a kick-off meeting. The projects
execution solidifies the Companys long-term development plan
to support the acceleration of the national clean energy
transition.
The project development process begins with infrastructure
construction, exploratory well drilling, production testing, and
the issuance of a Notice of Resource Confirmation (NORC),
with a target completion date of October 2027. As an initial
step, PGE will drill three exploratory wells with an estimated
investment of USD 32.21 million.

Ahmad Yani stated, Through the development of the Lumut
Balai Unit 4 Geothermal Power Plant Project, PGE is not only
focused on increasing installed capacity potential but also
reflects the Companys commitment to ensuring the
sustainability of clean energy supply while enhancing the
reliability of the national geothermal portfolio. Furthermore, this
project plays a crucial role in supporting the achievement of
national energy mix targets and strengthening Indonesias
contribution to realizing Net Zero Emissions.
From a technical standpoint, the Lumut Balai Geothermal
Working Area (WKP) encompasses a vast geothermal
resource area ranging from 22 to 66 km2. Recent geoscience
studies and reservoir simulations indicate that existing
reserves can support the development of an additional 55 MW
of capacity at Unit 4. The Lumut Balai Unit 4 geothermal power
plant project is targeted to reach full commercial operation
(COD) in 2032, bringing the total capacity of the Lumut Balai
Area to 220 MW, with the addition of the Lumut Balai Unit 3
geothermal power plant in 2030.
Meanwhile, Andi Joko Nugroho, Director of Operations at PT
Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, emphasized that this
project will also contribute to the optimization of the overall
management of the Lumut Balai geothermal working area.
The Lumut Balai Unit 4 Geothermal Power Plant project is a
strategic step toward increasing proven reserves while
ensuring the sustainable development of the Lumut Balai
Geothermal Working Area. This exploration plays a crucial role
in driving the realization of the 1-gigawatt (GW) development
target as part of PGEs expansion strategy, he said.
The Lumut Balai Unit 4 project has been included in the 2025 -
2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL). Commercially,
this project holds strong prospects with the availability of a
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) coupled with an escalation
scheme. Additionally, the projected annual growth in electricity
demand in South Sumatra Province, estimated at 6.072
percent, serves as a key supporting factor for the development
of this project.
Through a combination of technical readiness, strong

commercial prospects, and national policy support, PGE is
optimistic that the development of Lumut Balai Unit 4 will make
a significant contribution to strengthening national energy
resilience based on reliable and sustainable clean energy.
Edwil Suzandi, Director of Exploration & Development at PT
Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, added that the drilling site
is located in an area that is highly geologically prospective.
This exploration area is situated near the main upflow zone,
characterized by high permeability, which has been verified
through various comprehensive geoscience assessments and
technical studies. With the support of this technical data, the
future development of the Lumut Balai Geothermal Power
Plant Unit 4 is expected to proceed in a more focused, efficient
manner and achieve a more measurable success rate, he
explained.
