Strengthening National Energy Resilience, Elnusa Drives Upstream Asset
Optimization through Integrated Chemical Services
Jakarta, 18 August 2026 – PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA), an integrated energy services company and part of Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding,
continues to strengthen its role in supporting increased national upstream oil and gas production and operational efficiency. This effort
is carried out through the integration of technology, engineering, operational services, and chemical solutions developed to address the
increasingly complex requirements of oil and gas production.
One of these strategic capabilities is delivered through PT Elnusa Petrofin, an Elnusa subsidiary that develops Integrated Chemical
Services, including specialty chemicals, drilling fluids, and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) solutions. With extensive experience and
operational coverage across various regions in Indonesia, Elnusa has evolved beyond being a provider of supporting materials to
becoming an integral part of solutions aimed at maintaining production performance, flow assurance, asset integrity, and optimizing oil
productivity.
These capabilities are increasingly relevant to the Government’s agenda to raise national oil production to 1 million barrels per day by
2030. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has emphasized that achieving this target requires production optimization
through technology deployment, the reactivation of idle wells, and the development of new oil and gas potential. Enhanced Oil Recovery
is among the technologies being promoted to increase oil recovery from mature producing fields.
Within the Pertamina Group ecosystem, Elnusa plays a strategic role in translating technological capabilities into solutions that can be
implemented in the field. One example is its collaboration with Pertamina Technology & Innovation (TI) in the development and
implementation of chemical solutions for Enhanced Oil Recovery. This synergy brings together research and technology development
capabilities with Elnusa’s field implementation, engineering, and operational expertise.
The collaboration is also part of the ongoing development of Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (CEOR) solutions, including the CEOR Rama
Project, which was carried out on July 8, 2026. Elnusa’s involvement in the development and implementation of CEOR solutions
demonstrates how chemical capabilities can be directly aligned with production enhancement requirements in upstream assets. In
addition, Elnusa has supported the operational excellence milestones throughout the five-year transition of several Working Areas in the
Rokan region managed by Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) for CEOR projects, including Sumatra Light North and Sumatra Light South.
Elnusa’s Integrated Chemical Services portfolio covers fluid separation, flow assurance, asset integrity assurance, water treatment,
drilling fluids, and EOR. These capabilities have been implemented across various Pertamina Group upstream assets in Regions 1, 2, and
3, including Pertamina Hulu Rokan, Pertamina EP, and Pertamina Hulu Mahakam. The portfolio is further strengthened through the
development of specialty chemicals and increased local content, creating greater opportunities for value creation across the upstream
ecosystem.
Corporate Secretary of PT Elnusa Tbk, Rustam Aji, said that integrating capabilities across the Pertamina Group ecosystem is one of
Elnusa’s key strengths in delivering more comprehensive solutions for the upstream oil and gas industry. ““The national oil production

technology, expertise, and operational execution to ensure that every solution we deliver can make a measurable contribution to asset
productivity. We see this opportunity not merely as business development, but as part of Elnusa’s contribution to the national energy
resilience agenda,” said Rustam.
He added that strengthening these capabilities is aligned with Elnusa’s role as an integrated energy services company with expertise
spanning integrated upstream oil and gas services, energy distribution and logistics, and oil and gas supporting services. Cross-capability
integration enables Elnusa to capture broader business opportunities while strengthening its contribution to the strategic needs of the
Pertamina Group.
