Summary of the Q&A Session
The following are the questions asked by participants and the answers given by management in this
public expose that include both questions that were directly asked onsite and questions that were
electronically submitted via Microsoft Teams :
1. Ben – Individual Investor
Question:
- Based on the data provided, the Bank's LLP (Loan Loss Provision) / CKPN has increased
from 2021 until the end of 2025. Could you explain which segment contributes to this
NPL, whether it comes from the consumer, commercial, or corporate segment? Please
explain.
- What has the Bank done to reduce this CKPN figure, and what are the plans moving
forward?
Answer:
Rudy Basyir Ahmad – Finance Director and Sharia Business Unit
- From the perspective of CKPN or ECL coverage ratio, Bank Permata is one of the banks
that takes a fairly conservative position.
- The Bank's ECL coverage ratio is one of the highest in the industry, which aligns with the
Bank's prudential principle to ensure that the Bank's CKPN reserves are sufficient and
serve as a provision for all segments, whether commercial, consumer, or corporate.
- One of the contributions is from the modelling side which is very conservative, so it's not
because of the quality of the assets themselves, but more due to the conservativeness on
the provisioning side.
Question:
- What ratio can be recovered from that CKPN? Will everything be written off or is there
anything that can be recovered from previous periods? What about going forward?
Answer:
Rudy Basyir Ahmad – Finance and Sharia Business Unit Director
- Moving forward, we will continue to monitor the market situation and conditions. If we
feel that the conditions require the Bank to continue forming more conservative
provisions, we will continue to do so.
- Regarding write-offs, no, the loan at risk ratio has decreased, so in terms of credit quality,
it has actually been continuously improving. However, on the provisioning side, we will
continue to act conservatively.

2. Dewi - Individual Investor
Question:
- What are BNLI's strategies and anticipations to eliminate or minimize the occurrence of
customer fund breaches, which have recently been rampant in a bank?
- Does BNLI plan to open or expand businesses, for example, one of them being Permata
Securities? with the aim and purpose of modifying or diversifying the business, so that
the funds owned by BNLI’s customer, will not move elsewhere.
Answer:
Meliza M. Rusli – President Director
- Relevant questions for the banking industry, and we believe that all banks continue to
strengthen and improve digital service and security.
- At Permata Bank, we continuously enhance system security as well as customer data
protection by implementing security standards that we continuously improve, especially
through our collaboration with Bangkok Bank Group.
- This matter has become a synergy that we always prioritize, particularly information
regarding customer data protection for improving banking system security, which we
can work on together with Bangkok Bank Group.
- All digital banking systems and security must be able to operate 24 hours according to
customer needs.
- In addition, we also continue to strengthen our system infrastructure. The infrastructure
here is not only owned within Permata Bank but also third-party infrastructure that
partners with us in providing banking services to customers.
- This is our strategy in implementing multiple layers of security for the banking system,
especially in this very fast digital era.
- For the second question, whether we will expand into adjacent businesses, such as
Permata Securities, we continue to study new businesses outside of banking, and we will
keep monitoring the development of regulations issued by the OJK and BI.
- We will continue to explore all existing opportunities as well as opportunities that come
to Permata Bank, and we will keep paying attention to them.
3. William Giovani – Individual Investor
Question:
- Looking at the performance of Bank Permata, is there already a plan regarding the spin-
off of the Sharia Business Unit?
Answer:
Rudy Basyir Ahmad – Finance and Sharia Business Unit Director
Page 4 of 19
Page 5
- The performance of Permata Bank Syariah last year was quite good, very positive, and it
remains a strategic part of Permata Bank's overall business.
- Regarding the spin-off plan as we know, the total assets of Permata Bank Syariah are still
around Rp37 trillion, so there is still much room for us to grow.
- Currently, the Bank's focus is to continue strengthening Permata Bank Syariah itself,
strengthening its balance sheet structure, diversifying its business, and improving how
we can serve our customers better.
- At this time, we have not had any in-depth discussions regarding the spin-off and are still
focused on strengthening Permata Bank Syariah itself.
4. Daniel – Individual Investor
Question:
- From the data on slides 20 and 21, it is mentioned that in FY 2025, Bank Permata's NIM
was recorded at 4%, or slightly down 30bps compared to the previous year at 4.3%. On
the other hand, Net Interest Income also decreased by 2% YoY. What is the main cause
of this pressure on NIM? Is it due to increased funding costs or cost of funds, or because
of changes in asset composition, or due to competition?
- What is management's strategy to maintain NIM amid global and domestic interest rate
uncertainties in 2026?
Answer:
Rudy Basyir Ahmad – Finance and Sharia Business Unit Director
- In line with the decline in BI interest rates and The Fed interest rates, where BI has
lowered the interest rate from 6% in Dec ’24 to 4.75% by Dec ’25, there will normally be a
decrease in credit interest rates.
- On the credit interest rate side, we also see that re-pricing of credit interest rates will
proceed in line with the decline in BI interest rates.
- The challenge in 2025 from the cost of fund perspective, we see that throughout the first
nine months of 2025, the movement or decrease in cost of funds is very slow, so the
industry's NIM compression is indeed real, especially on Permata’s side, which is related
to the slower decrease in cost of funds compared to the existing credit interest rate
reduction.
- In addition, from a credit structure perspective, there is no change, and going forward we
will continue to implement the diversification strategy that we are currently running.
Answer:

Page 6
- Management stated on slides 27-29, even though the gross NPL remains stable at 2.1%,
the NPL coverage ratio declined from 375.5% in 2024 to 356.1% in 2025. Does this
decline reflect management's expectation that credit risk will improve, or is there a
change in the provisioning policy considering that credit growth in the manufacturing,
construction, and real estate sectors is very high? How does management mitigate
concentration risk in these sectors amid the global economic slowdown due to the war?
Answer:
Rudy Basyir Ahmad – Finance and Sharia Business Unit Director
- Regarding NPL and the decline in the NPL coverage ratio, broadly speaking, the
structure of our balance sheet is already much better. In addition, from the LAR side,
Bank Permata's LAR has decreased from around 7% previously to around 6% now, so
when LAR decreases, the amount of provisioning we need to build also decreases, which
is why the NPL coverage ratio also experiences a decline.
- In terms of the ratio, an NPL coverage ratio above 300% is quite conservative, so we will
continue to ensure that Bank Permata's provisioning level will always be at a sufficient or
quite conservative level.
Answer:
Joshua Pardede – Chief Economist
- We see that the impact of global conditions is still filled with uncertainty, especially when
we make assumptions or scenarios where the war in the Middle East is prolonged, which
of course could drive a trend of rising global crude oil prices and potentially be followed
by an increase in domestic fuel prices, which will also affect the high or rising trend of
domestic inflation this year.
- We have conducted an assessment, and under quite worse conditions such as a
prolonged war in the Middle East, it will also impact the slowing of economic growth and
will also have implications for the slowdown in bank credit growth.
- Regarding which sectors, of course we see that most sectors will be quite affected, but
with global conditions full of uncertainty, we see that sectors still dependent on export
markets tend to experience a deeper impact compared to defensive sectors that still rely
on domestic consumption.
Answer:
Rudy Basyir Ahmad – Finance and Sharia Business Unit Director
- One of the Bank's priorities in its growth is to ensure that the growth will always exist and
be sustainable, and we will always apply the principles of disciplined risk management
and prudence, and from the portfolio management side, we will always review the
Page 6 of 19
Page 7
external impacts on our portfolio. This is what will always become a continuous action
carried out by the Bank.
Question:
- Management mentioned on slides 17 and 23 that credit growth at Bank Permata in 2025
is 5.5% YoY, with an economic growth outlook of around 5.12% in 2026 and industry
credit growth predicted at around 10.2%. What is Permata's strategy to accelerate credit
disbursement, which sectors will be the main focus, and will the bank continue to rely on
the corporate segment or start boosting the consumer and commercial sectors?
Answer:
Rudy Basyir Ahmad – Finance and Sharia Business Unit Director
- From the segment perspective, we will operate across all segments because, from
Permata Bank's side, the corporate, commercial, and consumer segments are the three
segments that are the Bank's priority segments. We will not focus on just one, but we will
continuously observe the economic conditions, geopolitical conditions, and their impact
on banking in the Indonesian economy.
- We will also continue to assess which sectors or segments we can grow in prudently and
sustainably while always prioritizing the principle of caution.
Thus we submit this report. Thank you for your attention.
