PGN Targets Gas Sales Volume of 877 BBTUD as Demand Expected to Grow
Jakarta – PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) as Pertamina's Gas
Subholding is committed to continuing the implementation of strategic natural gas
projects. The sustainability of strategic pipeline and non-pipeline infrastructure
projects plays a fundamental role for PGN amidst the demands of energy resilience
and transition.
In 2026, PGN targets the distribution of natural gas to various customer segments at
around 877 BBTUD, growing by 4%. This is driven by optimism regarding demand
growth from several industrial areas and new customers, particularly in East Java
and Central Java. PGN will also complement its natural gas services with LNG
distribution. This optimism is what drives PGN to strengthen its operations as the
main foundation.
"The focus of PGN in 2026 is on strengthening operations as a long-term investment
to ensure service reliability for customers. PGN also has high hopes of connecting
natural gas to communities in various sectors and economic centers," explained
PGN Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman.
PGN's main strategic project is the acceleration of several initiatives to strengthen
transmission, distribution, and regasification infrastructure. This development
direction includes expanding service coverage thru customer attachment targeting
the commercial and industrial sectors across various scales of business. PGN is also
completing infrastructure projects such as the Cikampek - Plumpang Pipeline, plans
for additional Sei Mangkei Distribution Pipeline routes, and the development of LNG
storage and regasification facilities.
Then, in an effort to expand energy access to households, PGN is accelerating the
household gas network (jargas) in Sumatra and Java. This step is accompanied by
midstream infrastructure innovations thru beyond-pipeline modes such as CNG
cylinders, LNG Hub retail, trucking, and Vertical Gas Liquid (VGL) tanks.
Completing this innovation, PGN strengthened LNG infrastructure thru the
optimization of the Hub & Storage Arun facility, which is now equipped with top-notch
security features and the expansion of LNG facility development to eastern

Indonesia for the electricity sector.
PGN continues to pursue low emission initiatives, where PGN is committed to
sustainability thru the development of renewable & natural gas products for the
Green Energy Business, such as biomethane and gas derivatives.
