Jakarta, 18 Agustus 2023 - Semangat perayaan HUT RI ke-78
kali ini diwarnai PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE)
(IDX: PGEO) dengan bersiap memasuki arena bisnis panas
bumi global.
Direktur Utama PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, Julfi
Hadi mengatakan, Ekspansi pasar internasional ini menjadi
ambisi kami untuk menjadikan Pertamina Geothermal Energy
sebagai world class green energy company. Saat ini beberapa
negara sudah menjadi target pasar kami, mulai dari Afrika,
Eropa, maupun Asia.
Julfi menambahkan ekspansi ke luar negeri ini akan
menambah rencana pengembangan bisnis Pertamina
Geothermal Energy yang saat ini tetap berfokus dalam
memaksimalkan potensi panas bumi di dalam negeri, "Kami
akan tetap memenuhi komitmen kami menjadi 1 GW company
dalam dua tahun mendatang", ujar Julfi.
Sebagai tahap awal, Julfi mengatakan pihaknya bakal
menjajaki pengembangan bisnis dengan Kenya yang berada
di Benua Afrika.
Alasan menjajaki bisnis dengan Kenya, kata Julfi, karena
negara yang berada di bagian timur Afrika itu memiliki
pertumbuhan ekonomi yang stabil. "Pertumbuhan ekonomi
yang stabil dan keamanan yang terus membaik tentunya
menjadi peluang bisnis positif bagi Pertamina Geothermal
Energy dalam melakukan ekspansi bisnis secara global."
Kenya merupakan yang terdepan di Afrika dalam
pengembangan panas bumi dengan kapasitas terpasang
sebesar 865 MW dan berada di posisi ke-7 dalam peringkat
global. Pada tahun 2030, Kenya menargetkan memiliki 5.530
MW total kapasitas terpasang. Saat ini Kenya memiliki total
potensi panas bumi sebesar 7 GW.
Dengan target sebesar itu maka Kenya berambisi untuk
menjadikan panas bumi sebagai sumber energi bersih
terbesar di negara mereka pada tahun 2030. Selain itu,
Pemerintah Kenya juga memiliki kebijakan untuk
meningkatkan jumlah tenaga panas bumi secara signifikan
karena bersifat alami, mampu memenuhi beban listrik dasar
(baseload), ramah lingkungan, dan hemat biaya.
Selain Kenya, beberapa negara yang kini tengah dibidik
Pertamina Geothermal Energy untuk pengembangan bisnis
dan kerja sama adalah Turki dan Jerman. Menurut
Renewables 2022 Global Status Report, di Turki panas bumi
menyumbang 3% dari kebutuhan listrik nasional.
"Dengan semua potensi dan peluang di pasar global tersebut,
kami berharap dapat menjadi tambahan kontribusi bagi devisa
negara. Momentum perayaan Hari Kemerdekaan ini menjadi
pemacu semangat dan langkah awal untuk melaju
mewujudkan Pertamina Geothermal Energy goes to global,"

Marking the 78th Indonesian Independence Day, Pertamina
Geothermal Energy is Ready to Expand Business Globally
Jakarta, August 18, 2023 - PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy
Tbk. (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) is preparing to enter the global
geothermal business arena.
President Director of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk.
Julfi Hadi said, "This international market expansion is our
ambition to make Pertamina Geothermal Energy a world class
green energy company. Currently, several countries have
become our target markets, ranging from Africa, Europe, and
Asia."
Julfi added that this overseas expansion will add to Pertamina
Geothermal Energy's business development plan which
currently remains focused on maximizing geothermal potential
in the country, "We will continue to fulfill our commitment to
become a 1 GW company in the next two years," said Julfi.
As an initial stage, Julfi said that his party would explore
business development with Kenya, which is on the African
Continent.
The reason for exploring business with Kenya, said Julfi, is
because the country in eastern Africa has stable economic
growth. "Stable economic growth and improved security are
certainly positive business opportunities for Pertamina
Geothermal Energy in expanding its business globally."Kenya
is Africa's leader in geothermal development with an installed
capacity of 865 MW and is in 7th place in the global ranking.
By 2030, Kenya aims to have 5,530 MW of total installed
capacity.Kenya currently has a total geothermal potential of 7
GW.
With such a large target, Kenya is ambitious to make
geothermal the largest source of clean energy in their country
by 2030. In addition, the Kenyan government also has a policy
to significantly increase the amount of geothermal power
because it is natural, able to meet baseload, environmentally
friendly, and cost-effective.Apart from Kenya, some of the
countries that Pertamina Geothermal Energy is currently
targeting for business development and cooperation are
Turkey and Germany. According to the Renewables 2022
Global Status Report, in Turkey geothermal accounts for 3% of
national electricity demand.
"With all the potential and opportunities in the global market,
we hope to be an additional contribution to the country's
foreign exchange. The momentum of this Independence Day
celebration is a boost of enthusiasm and the first step towards
realizing Pertamina Geothermal Energy goes global," Julfi
concluded.
