PRESS RELEASE
From Back Office to Strategic Business Partner,
CASS Supports Chandra Asri Group’s Transformation
Jakarta, September 22, 2026 – As businesses continue to expand and corporate operations
become increasingly integrated, the role of shared services is evolving from merely providing
administrative support into becoming a strategic partner that drives business growth and value
creation. This trend is also reflected in the development of global shared services models, which
increasingly leverage technology, artificial intelligence (AI), process standardization, and
business outcome-based performance measurement.
These developments were among the key topics discussed during the Exclusive Seminar
“Launchpad To Success”, organized by PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group)
under the theme “Unlocking Opportunities in a Changing Business Landscape.” During the
session, Mark Teoh, Deloitte Southeast Asia Human Capital Portfolio Leader, discussed the
evolution of shared services and how organizations can leverage technology and internal
capabilities to enhance the value delivered to the business.
“Shared services are no longer solely about how work can be performed more efficiently. Their
role is evolving into a platform for building organizational capabilities, leveraging technology, and
creating greater value for the business,” said Mark Teoh.
According to Deloitte, the transformation of the shared services model is reflected in how
organizations build internal capabilities, integrate AI into service delivery, and adopt business
outcome-based performance measurement. In a Deloitte survey of more than 500 global business
and technology executives, 70% of organizations reported bringing previously outsourced work
back in-house over the past five years to strengthen internal capabilities, improve service quality,
and enhance control. Meanwhile, 92% of respondents plan to integrate AI into service delivery,
while the adoption of outcome-based models has increased to 67%.
This transformation is becoming increasingly relevant for Chandra Asri Group, which continues
to expand its portfolio across the energy and chemicals, integrated infrastructure, and mobility
solutions sectors, while also broadening its presence across the region. This growth requires an
operational foundation capable of keeping pace with the scale and complexity of the business,
supported by integrated processes, consistent standards, and scalable capabilities.
As the entity overseeing Chandra Asri Group’s support functions, PT Chandra Asri Sentral
Solusi (CASS) serves as a platform that integrates and consolidates processes across the
Group. Currently, CASS provides services across Finance, Human Resources, Procurement,
and Customer Operations, supporting a broad range of the Group’s operational needs, from
transaction processing and financial reporting, to human resources operations, procurement of
goods and services, and customer-related processes.

During the seminar, CASS President Director, Lenny Woen, said, “CASS was established to
support Chandra Asri Group in navigating the growing scale and complexity of its business. Our
role is not only to ensure that processes run efficiently and consistently, but also to build
capabilities that enable the business to move faster, leverage technology, and focus on value
creation. Therefore, we will continue to strengthen CASS, evolving from a service provider into a
strategic business partner.”
CASS’s transformation is driven by three key areas of focus, process standardization, the
adoption of technology, automation, and analytics, and the development of Artificial Intelligence
(AI) capabilities. CASS continues to drive automation and analytics to improve efficiency and
service quality, while expanding the use of AI to support faster, more integrated, and data-driven
ways of working.
This approach also enables CASS to build capabilities that can be leveraged more broadly across
the Group. Through process standardization and technology, services can be developed in a
scalable manner as the number of entities and business needs grow, without requiring each entity
to build the same capabilities independently.
In line with Chandra Asri Group’s regional expansion, CASS has also begun extending its support
beyond Indonesia. CASS currently supports Aster in Singapore, broadening the Group’s shared
services coverage while building experience in supporting businesses with different operational
needs and characteristics.
Looking ahead, CASS will continue to expand the scope of its services and capabilities, including
the planned integration of the Information Technology (IT) function in 2027. This development is
expected to further strengthen connectivity among the business, technology, data, and human
resources functions across the Group.
“Chandra Asri Group’s growth requires an organization that is not only larger, but also increasingly
integrated and agile. CASS will continue to build capabilities that enable the Group to benefit from
scale, standardization, and technology, while providing each business with the flexibility to grow
according to its respective needs,” Lenny continued.
Through this transformation, CASS is positioned to become a trusted strategic partner for
Chandra Asri Group, providing integrated, standardized, and scalable services while serving as
an enabler of business growth, operational excellence, and the Group’s regional expansion.
