Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
Area Lumut Balai resmi memulai pengeboran sumur kedua,
LMB-19.4, guna mendukung pengembangan Pembangkit
Listrik Tenaga Panas Bumi (PLTP) Lumut Balai Unit 3
berkapasitas 55 megawatt (MW).
Pengeboran sumur kedua ini merupakan kelanjutan dari tajak
(spud-in) sumur eksplorasi pertama pada Juli 2026. Tajak
perdana PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3 dilakukan di sumur LMB 19-
3 di Desa Babatan, Kecamatan Semende Darat Ulu, juga
menggunakan rig GDAP#123, dengan kedalaman 2.500
meter. Proyek yang berlokasi di Wilayah Kerja Panas Bumi
(WKP) Lumut Balai, Sumatera Selatan, ini ditargetkan
beroperasi secara penuh (Commissioning Operation
Date/COD) pada 2030.
Direktur Utama PGE Ahmad Yani menyampaikan bahwa
proyek ini menjadi bagian penting dari upaya PGE
memperkuat kontribusi panas bumi di Sumatera, terlebih pada
momentum satu abad pengembangan panas bumi nasional.
Momentum satu abad panas bumi nasional ini menjadi
pengingat bagi kami untuk terus mempercepat
pengembangan, salah satunya melalui PLTP Lumut Balai Unit
3. Proyek ini menjadi wujud nyata komitmen PGE menjawab
kebutuhan listrik yang terus meningkat, khususnya di
Sumatera Selatan, sekaligus melanjutkan capaian Unit 2 yang
telah beroperasi lebih dulu. Kami optimistis, proyek ini akan
turut mempercepat langkah PGE menuju target kapasitas
terpasang 1 gigawatt (GW) pada 2028 dan 1,8 GW pada 2034,
ujarnya.
Project Manager Lumut Balai Unit 3 & 4 Heri Susanto
menyampaikan bahwa keberhasilan proses pengeboran
membutuhkan sinergi seluruh pihak serta konsistensi dalam
menerapkan standar keselamatan, kualitas, dan operasional.
Ia menambahkan, pengeboran Sumur LMB-19.4 ditargetkan
dapat rampung dalam waktu 40 hari.
Dimulainya pengeboran sumur kedua LMB-19.4 menjadi
kelanjutan dari berhasilnya sumur LMB-19.3 yang telah selesai
sebelumnya. Kami berharap seluruh proses dapat berjalan
dengan aman, lancar, dan sesuai dengan target yang telah
ditetapkan. Keselamatan seluruh pekerja tetap menjadi
prioritas utama dalam setiap tahapan pekerjaan, ujar Heri
Susanto.
Proyek PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3 juga merupakan bagian dari
arah strategis pemerintah, yang tercatat sebagai proyek
strategis dalam Blue Book & Green Book 2025 - 2029
Kementerian PPN/Bappenas. Keberadaannya melengkapi
PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 1 & 2 berkapasitas masing-masing 55
MW yang telah beroperasi sejak akhir 2019 dan Juni 2025.
Selaras dengan hal tersebut, General Manager PGE Area
Lumut Balai Catur Hendro Utomo menyampaikan bahwa
dimulainya pengeboran Sumur LMB-19.4 menandai tahap
penting dalam pengembangan PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3.
Pengeboran LMB-19.4 ini merupakan kelanjutan dari
keberhasilan Sumur LMB-19.3 sebelumnya, dan menjadi bukti
bahwa proses pengembangan di lapangan terus berjalan
sesuai rencana. Kami optimistis, dengan sinergi seluruh tim
dan mitra kerja, target rampung pengeboran dalam 40 hari
dapat tercapai. Ini menjadi salah satu tahapan penting untuk
memastikan PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3 dapat beroperasi tepat
waktu, ujar Catur Hendro Utomo.
Seiring dengan arah pengembangan tersebut, PGE telah
mengidentifikasi potensi panas bumi hingga 3 GW dari 10
WKP yang dikelola secara mandiri, sebagai fondasi
pengembangan jangka panjang perusahaan.

Description of Material Information or PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) in
Facts the Lumut Balai Area has officially begun drilling its second
well, LMB-19.4, to support the development of the 55-
megawatt (MW) Lumut Balai Unit 3 Geothermal Power Plant
(PLTP).
The drilling of this second well follows the spud-in of the first
exploration well in July 2026. The inaugural spud-in for the
Lumut Balai Unit 3 Geothermal Power Plant took place at well
LMB 19-3 in Babatan Village, Semende Darat Ulu Subdistrict,
also using the GDAP#123 rig, at a depth of 2,500 meters.
Located in the Lumut Balai Geothermal Working Area (WKP)
in South Sumatra, the project is targeted to reach full operation
(Commissioning Operation Date/COD) by 2030.
PGE President Director Ahmad Yani stated that this project is
a crucial part of PGEs efforts to strengthen geothermal
contributions in Sumatra, particularly as the nation marks the
centennial of its geothermal development.
This centennial milestone in national geothermal development
serves as a reminder for us to continue accelerating
development, one of which is through the Lumut Balai
Geothermal Power Plant Unit 3. This project is a tangible
manifestation of PGEs commitment to meeting the ever-
increasing demand for electricity, particularly in South
Sumatra, while building on the achievements of Unit 2, which
has been in operation for some time. We are optimistic that
this project will help accelerate PGEs progress toward its
installed capacity targets of 1 gigawatt (GW) by 2028 and 1.8
GW by 2034, he said.
Heri Susanto, Project Manager for Lumut Balai Units 3 & 4,
stated that the success of the drilling process requires synergy
among all parties as well as consistency in implementing
safety, quality, and operational standards. He added that
drilling of Well LMB-19.4 is targeted to be completed within 40
days.
The start of drilling for the second well, LMB-19.4, follows the
successful completion of well LMB-19.3. We hope the entire
process will proceed safely, smoothly, and in line with the
established targets. The safety of all workers remains the top
priority at every stage of the work, said Heri Susanto.
The Lumut Balai Unit 3 Geothermal Power Plant project is also
part of the governments strategic direction, listed as a strategic
project in the Ministry of National Development
Planning/Bappenas Blue Book & Green Book 2025 - 2029. Its
construction complements the Lumut Balai Geothermal Power
Plant Units 1 and 2, each with a capacity of 55 MW, which
have been in operation since late 2019 and June 2025,
respectively.
In line with this, Balai Catur Hendro Utomo, General Manager
of PGEs Lumut Area, stated that the start of drilling for Well
LMB-19.4 marks an important milestone in the development of
Unit 3 of the Lumut Balai Geothermal Power Plant.
The drilling of LMB-19.4 follows the success of the previous
LMB-19.3 well and demonstrates that development at the site
is proceeding as planned. We are optimistic that, with the
synergy of the entire team and our partners, the goal of
completing drilling within 40 days can be achieved. This is one
of the key steps to ensure that Lumut Balai Geothermal Power
Plant Unit 3 can begin operations on schedule, said Catur
Hendro Utomo.
In line with this development strategy, PGE has identified
geothermal potential of up to 3 GW from 10 geothermal
working areas (GWAs) that it manages independently, serving
as the foundation for the companys long-term development.
