Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
terus menegaskan langkahnya dalam mengoptimalkan potensi
panas bumi nasional. Melalui kick-off meeting, proyek
pengembangan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Panas Bumi
(PLTP) Lumut Balai Unit 3 berkapasitas 55 megawatt (MW),
resmi dieksekusi. Proyek yang berlokasi di WKP Lumut Balai,
Sumatera Selatan ini ditargetkan beroperasi secara penuh
(commissioning operation date/COD) pada 2030.
Pertemuan ini menjadi titik awal pengembangan proyek
melalui penguatan koordinasi yang melibatkan berbagai fungsi
terkait di PGE. Seiring dengan itu, PGE juga membangun
sinergi yang erat dengan para pemangku kepentingan
eksternal, mulai dari pemerintah daerah, kontraktor,
masyarakat sekitar, PLN, hingga instansi pemerintah terkait.
Kolaborasi lintas disiplin dan fungsi ini diarahkan untuk
memastikan seluruh tahapan pelaksanaan proyek berjalan
lancar dan selaras untuk mencapai sasaran yang telah
ditetapkan.

Ahmad Yani mengatakan, Kick Off Meeting ini menjadi
momentum penting untuk memastikan kesiapan seluruh aspek
proyek, baik dari sisi teknis, perizinan, pendanaan, maupun
pengelolaan risiko. Pengembangan energi baru dan
terbarukan di Indonesia kini memasuki fase yang semakin
krusial, sejalan dengan arah kebijakan nasional dalam RUPTL
periode 2025-2034. Proyek PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3
ditetapkan sebagai bagian dari arah strategis pemerintah.
Selain itu, proyek ini juga tercatat sebagai proyek strategis
dalam Blue Book 2025-2029 Kementerian PPN/Bappenas.
Melalui pengembangan ini, PGE menegaskan komitmennya
dalam memperkuat kapasitas panas bumi nasional secara
berkelanjutan, sekaligus menjawab kebutuhan listrik di
Sumatera Selatan yang terus meningkat.
Inisiatif ini merupakan kelanjutan dari proyek PLTP Lumut
Balai Unit 2 berkapasitas 55 MW yang telah beroperasi sejak
bulan Juni 2025 lalu. Capaian tersebut memperkuat langkah
PGE dalam mendekati target kapasitas terpasang yang
dikelola secara mandiri sebesar 1 gigawatt (GW) dalam 2 - 3
tahun ke depan dan 1,8 GW pada 2033. Seiring dengan arah
pengembangan tersebut, PGE telah mengidentifikasi potensi
panas bumi hingga 3 GW dari 10 Wilayah Kerja Panas Bumi
(WKP) yang dikelola secara mandiri sebagai fondasi
pengembangan jangka panjang.
Selain berkontribusi terhadap pasokan listrik, industri panas
bumi juga memiliki peran strategis dalam perekonomian
nasional. Sepanjang 2010 - 2024, sektor ini mencatatkan
Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak (PNBP) sekitar Rp21,43
triliun, sekaligus memberikan manfaat langsung bagi daerah
penghasil melalui Dana Bagi Hasil (DBH) yang mencapai
Rp10,82 triliun pada periode 2019-2024. Kontribusi ini tidak
hanya meningkatkan pendapatan daerah, tetapi juga
mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal melalui efek berganda
(multiplier effect).
Saat ini, PGE mengelola kapasitas terpasang sebesar 727
MW yang tersebar di enam wilayah operasi, serta tengah
mengembangkan sejumlah proyek strategis lainnya, antara
lain PLTP Hululais Unit 1 dan 2 berkapasitas 110 MW, serta
beberapa proyek co-generation bekerja sama dengan PLN

Indonesia Power dengan total kapasitas mencapai 230 MW.

Facts continues to affirm its steps in optimising the national
geothermal potential. Through a kick-off meeting, the
development project for the Lumut Balai Unit 3 Geothermal
Power Plant (PLTP) with a capacity of 55 megawatts (MW)
was officially executed. The project, located in the Lumut Balai
Geothermal Working Area (WKP) in South Sumatra, is
targeted to be fully operational (commissioning operation
date/COD) by 2030.
This meeting marks the starting point for the project's
development through strengthened coordination involving
various related functions at PGE. At the same time, PGE is
also building close synergies with external stakeholders,
ranging from local governments, contractors, local
communities, PLN, to relevant government agencies. This
cross-disciplinary and cross-functional collaboration is aimed
at ensuring that all stages of the project run smoothly and in
line with the set objectives.
PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk Director of Operations
Ahmad Yani said that this Kick Off Meeting is an important
moment to ensure the readiness of all aspects of the project,
both from a technical, licensing, funding, and risk management
perspective. The development of new and renewable energy in
Indonesia is now entering a crucial phase, in line with the
national policy direction in the 2025-2034 RUPTL. The Lumut
Balai Unit 3 PLTP project has been designated as part of the
government's strategic direction. In addition, this project is also
listed as a strategic project in the Ministry of National
Development Planning/Bappenas' Blue Book 2025-2029.
Through this development, PGE affirms its commitment to
strengthening the national geothermal capacity in a
sustainable manner, while also responding to the increasing
demand for electricity in South Sumatra.
This initiative is a continuation of the 55 MW Lumut Balai Unit
2 PLTP project, which has been operational since June 2025.
This achievement strengthens PGE's efforts to reach its target
of 1 gigawatt (GW) of independently managed installed
capacity within the next 2-3 years and 1.8 GW by 2033. In line
with this development direction, PGE has identified geothermal
potential of up to 3 GW from 10 independently managed
Geothermal Working Areas (GWAs) as the foundation for long-
term development.
In addition to contributing to the electricity supply, the
geothermal industry also plays a strategic role in the national
economy. From 2010 to 2024, this sector recorded Non-Tax
State Revenue (PNBP) of around Rp21.43 trillion, while also
providing direct benefits to producing regions through Revenue
Sharing Funds (DBH) amounting to Rp10.82 trillion in the
2019-2024 period. This contribution not only increases
regional income but also drives local economic growth through
the multiplier effect.
Currently, PGE manages an installed capacity of 727 MW
spread across six operational areas and is developing a
number of other strategic projects, including the Hululais Unit 1
and 2 geothermal power plants with a capacity of 110 MW, as
well as several co-generation projects in collaboration with
PLN Indonesia Power with a total capacity of 230 MW.
