Driving Supply Diversification: PGN and Dart Energy Collaborate on CBM Utilization
from Tanjung Enim
Jakarta – PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (“PGN”) and Dart Energy (Tanjung Enim) Pte. Ltd
(“Dart Energy”) have entered into a strategic collaboration to utilize gas supply sourced
from the development of Coalbed Methane (CBM) fields in the Tanjung Enim Working Area,
South Sumatra. This partnership marks a significant step toward optimizing domestic gas
resources while supporting the diversification of Indonesia’s natural gas supply.
PGN and Dart Energy signed a Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) on Wednesday, December 17,
2025, under which Dart Energy will supply CBM to PGN. This initiative introduces an
alternative supply source and strengthens energy resilience through the utilization of
previously untapped gas potential.
“The Government appreciates PGN and Dart Energy for achieving this GSA. We fully support
efforts to position Tanjung Enim as a National Strategic Project. We hope this agreement
ensures timely gas delivery to meet industrial needs, drive regional economic growth, and
serve as a best practice for CBM utilization contributing to energy sovereignty,” said Firdaus
Wajdi, Sub-Coordinator for Non-Conventional Oil and Gas Working Area Preparation at the
Directorate General of Oil and Gas.
SKK Migas also commended the GSA as a major milestone—not only in natural gas
utilization but also in CBM development. After a lengthy process, this agreement addresses
previous challenges and reflects successful collaboration among multiple stakeholders,
including the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, SKK Migas, KKKS, PGN, and NU Energy.
PGN’s commitment has been instrumental in enabling CBM integration with existing
infrastructure, both through pipeline networks and beyond.
“Through this partnership, PGN, as Pertamina’s Gas Subholding, is ready to support the
development and utilization of the Tanjung Enim CBM Working Area. Leveraging PGN’s
experience and integrated infrastructure capabilities, we aim to ensure optimal gas delivery
to customers,” stated PGN’s Director of Human Capital and Business Support, Rachmat
Hutama, during the signing ceremony.

“CBM represents a new chapter in Indonesia’s energy utilization. This collaboration
supports three key objectives: first, advancing clean energy in line with the government’s
energy transition toward Net Zero Emissions by 2060; second, optimizing domestic energy
resources through locally produced CBM; and third, unlocking CBM potential to create new
energy resources for balancing national supply and demand,” said Lim Beng Hong, CEO of
NuEnergy Gas, Dart Energy’s parent company.
Lim Beng Hong emphasized that this partnership goes beyond gas trading—it is a strategic
alliance with opportunities for further collaboration.
PGN also expressed optimism that this partnership will evolve into additional value-
creating initiatives. With a long-term collaborative spirit, PGN believes this cooperation will
deliver tangible benefits for industry, society, and the national economy.
PGN extends its gratitude to all parties who contributed to realizing this collaboration. We
hope this initiative will positively impact Indonesia’s energy security and energy transition
