Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
mencapai salah satu milestone dalam pengembangan
Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Panas Bumi (PLTP) Lahendong
Unit 7 dan 8 berkapasitas 2 x 20 megawatt (MW) yang
dikombinasikan dengan pembangkit Binary Unit berkapasitas
10 MW, dengan penyerahan dokumen teknis kepada PLN.
Dokumen teknis tersebut merupakan persyaratan utama
dalam evaluasi PLN untuk melakukan pembelian tenaga listrik
dari pembangkit Energi Baru dan Terbarukan (EBT) dengan
skema total proyek melalui Perjanjian Jual Beli Listrik (PJBL).
Direktur Eksplorasi dan Pengembangan PT Pertamina
Geothermal Energy Tbk, Edwil Suzandi, mengatakan bahwa
PGE terus melangkah maju mengoptimalkan potensi panas
bumi di Lahendong sejak beroperasinya PLTP Lahendong Unit
5 dan 6 pada 2016.
Penyampaian dokumen teknis ini menjadi langkah penting
bagi PGE dalam pengembangan panas bumi di Indonesia,
khususnya di Lahendong, Sulawesi Utara. Kami berharap
dengan disampaikannya dokumen ini, PLN dapat melakukan
proses evaluasi dan pembelian tenaga listrik dari pembangkit
energi baru terbarukan, sekaligus mendorong percepatan
tahapan pengembangan selanjutnya. Ke depan, PGE
berkomitmen untuk terus memperluas manfaat panas bumi
agar dapat dirasakan secara nyata oleh lebih banyak
masyarakat, ucap Edwil.
Sejalan dengan upaya optimalisasi potensi panas bumi di
Sulawesi Utara, PGE siap melaksanakan proses selanjutnya
yang meliputi diskusi teknis lebih lanjut dengan tim PLN terkait
kajian reservoir, desain fasilitas produksi, studi
penyambungan, maupun aspek kelistrikan dan komersial
lainnya.
Edwil juga mengungkapkan, Saat ini PGE berkontribusi sekitar
30% terhadap kebutuhan listrik di Sulawesi Utara dan
sekitarnya. Dengan penambahan kapasitas produksi melalui
PLTP Lahendong Unit 7 dan 8 serta Binary Unit, kontribusi
tersebut berpotensi meningkat menjadi 35% hingga 40% dari
total kebutuhan listrik wilayah tersebut.
Langkah ini juga merupakan wujud nyata kontribusi PGE
dalam mendukung target perluasan kapasitas pembangkit
berbasis EBT hingga 76% pada periode 2025-2034. PLTP
yang memanfaatkan sumber daya panas bumi di Prospek
Tompaso ini tercantum dalam Daftar Potensi Panas Bumi yang
memerlukan kajian lebih lanjut.
Proyek ini juga merupakan salah satu dari empat proyek
strategis panas bumi PGE dalam Blue Book 2025-2029 oleh
Kementerian PPN/Bappenas. Penetapan ini merupakan hasil
pengajuan resmi PGE melalui PT Pertamina (Persero) yang
menjadi tonggak penting dalam mengembangkan potensi
panas bumi sebagai tulang punggung transisi energi nasional.
Selain berkontribusi terhadap pasokan listrik, industri panas
bumi juga memiliki peran strategis dalam perekonomian
nasional. Sepanjang 2010-2024, sektor ini mencatatkan
Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak (PNBP) sekitar Rp 21,43
triliun, sekaligus memberikan manfaat langsung bagi daerah
penghasil melalui Dana Bagi Hasil (DBH) yang mencapai

sekitar Rp 10,82 triliun pada periode 2019-2024. Kontribusi ini
tidak hanya meningkatkan pendapatan daerah, tetapi juga
mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal melalui efek berganda
(multiplier effect).
Sebagai pionir pengembangan energi panas bumi di Indonesia
dengan pengalaman lebih dari 40 tahun, PGE berfokus
mewujudkan target kapasitas terpasang sebesar 1 gigawatt
(GW) dalam 2-3 tahun ke depan dan 1,8 GW pada 2033.
Sejalan dengan itu, PGE telah mengidentifikasi potensi panas
bumi hingga 3 GW dari 10 Wilayah Kerja Panas Bumi (WKP)
yang dikelola secara mandiri.
Saat ini, PGE mengelola kapasitas terpasang sebesar 727
MW yang tersebar di enam wilayah operasi, serta tengah
mengembangkan sejumlah proyek strategis lainnya, antara
lain PLTP Hululais Unit 1 dan 2 berkapasitas 110 MW, serta
beberapa proyek co-generation bekerja sama dengan PLN
Indonesia Power dengan total kapasitas mencapai 230 MW.

Facts has achieved a milestone in the development of the
Lahendong Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) Lahendong Units
7 and 8 with a capacity of 2 x 20 megawatts (MW) combined
with a 10 MW Binary Unit power plant, by submitting technical
documents to PLN.
These technical documents are a key requirement in PLN's
evaluation to purchase electricity from New and Renewable
Energy (EBT) power plants under a total project scheme
through an Electricity Purchase Agreement (PJBL).
Director of Exploration and Development at PT Pertamina
Geothermal Energy Tbk, Edwil Suzandi, said that PGE
continues to move forward in optimising the geothermal
potential in Lahendong since the operation of the Lahendong
Unit 5 and 6 PLTP in 2016.
The submission of these technical documents is an important
step for PGE in the development of geothermal energy in
Indonesia, particularly in Lahendong, North Sulawesi. We
hope that with the submission of these documents, PLN can
carry out the evaluation process and purchase electricity from
new and renewable energy plants, while also accelerating the
next stages of development. Going forward, PGE is committed
to continuing to expand the benefits of geothermal energy so
that they can be felt tangibly by more people, said Edwil.
In line with efforts to optimise geothermal potential in North
Sulawesi, PGE is ready to carry out the next steps, which
include further technical discussions with the PLN team
regarding reservoir studies, production facility design,
connection studies, and other electrical and commercial
aspects.
Edwil also revealed that PGE currently contributes around
30% to the electricity needs in North Sulawesi and its
surrounding areas. With the addition of production capacity
through the Lahendong Unit 7 and 8 PLTP and Binary Unit,
this contribution has the potential to increase to 35% to 40% of
the total electricity needs of the region.
This step is also a tangible manifestation of PGE's contribution
in supporting the target of expanding EBT-based power plant
capacity to 76% in the 2025-2034 period. The PLTP, which
utilises geothermal resources in the Tompaso Prospect, is
listed in the Geothermal Potential List that requires further
study.
This project is also one of PGE's four strategic geothermal
projects in the 2025-2029 Blue Book by the Ministry of
National Development Planning/Bappenas. This designation is
the result of an official submission by PGE through PT
Pertamina (Persero), which is an important milestone in
developing geothermal potential as the backbone of the
national energy transition.
In addition to contributing to the electricity supply, the
geothermal industry also plays a strategic role in the national
economy. From 2010 to 2024, this sector recorded non-tax
state revenue (PNBP) of around Rp 21.43 trillion, while also
providing direct benefits to producing regions through revenue
sharing funds (DBH) amounting to around Rp 10.82 trillion in

the 2019-2024 period. This contribution not only increases
regional income but also drives local economic growth through
the multiplier effect.
As a pioneer in geothermal energy development in Indonesia
with more than 40 years of experience, PGE is focused on
achieving its target installed capacity of 1 gigawatt (GW) in the
next 2-3 years and 1.8 GW by 2033. In line with this, PGE has
identified geothermal potential of up to 3 GW from 10
Geothermal Working Areas (GWAs) managed independently.
Currently, PGE manages an installed capacity of 727 MW
spread across six operational areas and is developing several
other strategic projects, including the Hululais Unit 1 and 2
geothermal power plants with a capacity of 110 MW, as well as
several co-generation projects in collaboration with PLN
Indonesia Power with a total capacity of 230 MW.
