Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
berkomitmen memperluas pemanfaatan energi bersih dengan
mengembangkan green data center berbasis energi panas
bumi. Langkah ini diperkuat melalui kolaborasi strategis
dengan Indonesia Data Center Provider Organization (IDPRO)
dan Fakultas Teknik Universitas Indonesia. Kesepakatan ini
akan menjadi fondasi teknis dan komersial bagi peta jalan
pengembangan infrastruktur green data center, yang
selanjutnya jadi dasar untuk masuk ke tahap implementasi.
Direktur Eksplorasi dan Pengembangan PT Pertamina
Geothermal Energy Tbk Edwil Suzandi menegaskan,
terobosan ini merupakan langkah strategis untuk membuka
peluang baru industri digital beremisi rendah di Indonesia.
Terlebih, saat ini Indonesia tengah memasuki era transformasi
digital yang mendorong lonjakan kebutuhan data center.
Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital mencatat bahwa tren ini
ditopang oleh lebih dari 212 juta pengguna internet serta
fasilitas data center yang diperkirakan terus bertambah hingga
2029 - 2030.
Berdasarkan proyeksi pertumbuhan konsumsi kelistrikan di
industri, hampir 26% didorong oleh pertumbuhan data center.
Kapasitas data center nasional diproyeksikan naik dari 520
megawatt (MW) pada 2025 menjadi 1,8 gigawatt (GW) pada
2030. Hal ini membuka peluang bagi PGE untuk terlibat lebih
jauh dalam sektor digital rendah karbon. PGE ingin menjadi
bagian dari perjalanan ini, memastikan bahwa pertumbuhan
digital Indonesia dibangun dengan bertanggung jawab dan
berkelanjutan, ujar Edwil.
Ketua Umum Indonesia Data Center Provider Organization
(IDPRO) Hendra Suryakusuma menegaskan bahwa data
center memegang peranan vital sebagai infrastruktur digital
utama dalam mendukung transformasi digital nasional.
Transformasi digital Indonesia memerlukan fondasi
infrastruktur yang tidak hanya andal dan mampu berkembang,
tetapi juga selaras dengan komitmen nasional terhadap
transisi energi yang lebih berkelanjutan. Pemanfaatan energi
panas bumi untuk data center adalah langkah strategis yang
menjawab dua tantangan utama sekaligus: ketersediaan
energi jangka panjang dan penurunan emisi karbon secara
sistemik. Inisiatif ini menjadi preseden baik yang penting bagi
arah kebijakan pertumbuhan ekonomi ke depan, di mana
keberlanjutan bukan lagi opsi, tetapi sebuah keniscayaan.
IDPRO percaya bahwa kemitraan lintas sektor seperti ini akan
mempercepat terbentuknya ekosistem digital yang berdaya
saing global, jelas Hendra.
Sejalan dengan itu, Wakil Dekan Bidang Sumber Daya,
Ventura, Administrasi Umum Fakultas Teknik Universitas
Indonesia Dr. Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto mengatakan, Fakultas
Teknik Universitas Indonesia melihat inisiatif ini sebagai
momentum penting untuk memperkuat riset terapan dan
hilirisasi teknologi di bidang energi dan infrastruktur digital.
Integrasi pemanfaatan panas bumi sebagai sumber energi
listrik hijau bagi pengembangan data center membuka peluang
besar bagi lahirnya solusi inovatif yang tidak hanya
berkelanjutan, tetapi juga relevan bagi kebutuhan industri
masa depan. Kami siap memberikan dukungan akademik dan
keilmuan untuk memastikan proyek ini dapat memberikan

manfaat maksimal bagi ekosistem energi dan digital Indonesia.
Pengembangan data center berbasis panas bumi merupakan
langkah strategis untuk menghadirkan infrastruktur digital yang

Description of Material Information or PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) is
Facts committed to expanding the utilization of clean energy by
developing a geothermal-based green data center. This
initiative is strengthened through a strategic collaboration with
the Indonesia Data Center Provider Organization (IDPRO) and
the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia. The
agreement will serve as the technical and commercial
foundation for a green data center infrastructure development
roadmap, which will subsequently form the basis for moving
into the implementation phase.
The Director of Exploration and Development of PT Pertamina
Geothermal Energy Tbk, Edwil Suzandi, emphasized that this
breakthrough represents a strategic step to unlock new
opportunities for low-emission digital industries in Indonesia.
Indonesia is currently entering an era of digital transformation
that is driving a surge in demand for data centers. The Ministry
of Communication and Digital Affairs notes that this trend is
supported by more than 212 million internet users, with data
center facilities expected to continue growing through 2029 -
2030.
Based on projections of electricity consumption growth across
industries, nearly 26% is driven by the expansion of data
centers. National data center capacity is projected to increase
from 520 megawatts (MW) in 2025 to 1.8 gigawatts (GW) by
2030. This presents a significant opportunity for PGE to further
engage in the low-carbon digital sector. Edwil stated that PGE
wants to be part of this journey, ensuring that Indonesias
digital growth is built responsibly and sustainably.
The Chairman of the Indonesia Data Center Provider
Organization (IDPRO), Hendra Suryakusuma, emphasized that
data centers play a vital role as core digital infrastructure in
supporting national digital transformation.
Indonesias digital transformation requires an infrastructure
foundation that is not only reliable and scalable, but also
aligned with national commitments toward a more sustainable
energy transition. The use of geothermal energy for data
centers is a strategic step that addresses two major challenges
at once: long-term energy availability and systemic carbon
emission reduction. This initiative sets an important precedent
for future economic growth policies, where sustainability is no
longer an option, but a necessity. IDPRO believes that cross-
sector partnerships like this will accelerate the formation of a
globally competitive digital ecosystem, Hendra explained.
In line with this, the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and
General Administration of the Faculty of Engineering,
Universitas Indonesia, Dr. Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, stated that
the Faculty views this initiative as a critical momentum to
strengthen applied research and technology downstreaming in
the fields of energy and digital infrastructure.
He said that integrating geothermal energy as a source of
green electricity for data center development opens vast
opportunities for innovative solutions that are not only
sustainable, but also highly relevant to future industrial needs.
The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia, is ready to
provide academic and scientific support to ensure this project
delivers maximum benefits for Indonesias energy and digital

ecosystems.
The development of geothermal-based data centers is a
strategic move to deliver digital infrastructure that is efficient,
reliable, and low in emissions, while strengthening Indonesias
position in the global digital economy. Through this initiative,
PGE is taking on a greater role in ensuring that the
acceleration of national digital transformation aligns with
commitments toward a low-carbon economy.
As it marks its 19th anniversary, PGE reaffirms its position as a
key driver of the clean energy transition and a pillar of the
national geothermal ecosystem. With the spirit of Empowering
