Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material PT Pertamina (Persero) melalui PT Pertamina Geothermal
Energy Tbk (PGE) resmi melakukan groundbreaking
pembangunan Pilot Plant Green Hydrogen Ulubelu di Ulubelu,
Lampung, 9 September 2025.
Fasilitas ini menjadi yang pertama di dunia yang
mengintegrasikan teknologi Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM)
electrolyzer dengan energi panas bumi sebagai sumber listrik
bersih. Pilot plant ini menjadi terobosan penting Pertamina
dalam mendukung transisi energi, mempercepat bauran energi
bersih, sekaligus mendukung target Net Zero Emission (NZE)
2060.
Wakil Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM),
Yuliot Tanjung menyampaikan perhargaan kepada Pertamina
dan PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk yang telah
menjalankan transformasi bisnis dengan melakukan integrasi
investasi Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Panas bumi (PLTP)
dengan Industri Green Hydrogen.
Menurut Yuliot, Green Hydrogen merupakan salah satu energi
ramah lingkungan yang rendah emisi. Cepat atau lambat
energi terbarukan perlahan mendisrupsi energi fosil di masa
mendatang yang menjadi core business Pertamina saat ini.
Pengembangan Green Hydrogen akan menambah daftar
energi hijau namun berpotensi saling mempengaruhi satu
sama lain.
Dengan semakin banyak alternatif pilihan, masyarakat tentu
akan membandingkan mana yang lebih efektif dan lebih
efisien. Pilihan energi terbarukan yang lebih bervariatif akan
memberikan keuntungan bagi konsumen dalam memilih
kebutuhan sumber energi yang jauh lebih berkualitas namun
tidak berdampak negatif terhadap lingkungan, jelas Yuliot.
Pada kesempatan yang sama, Komisaris Utama Pertamina,
Mochamad Iriawan mengatakan, Ulubelu kembali menorehkan
sejarah penting bagi Indonesia. Sejalan dengan Asta Cita
Presiden Prabowo Subianto, Pertamina memiliki amanah
besar dalam mewujudkan swasembada energi dan
berkontribusi dalam transisi energi.
Ulubelu adalah kawasan energi panas bumi yang selama ini
telah memberi manfaat bagi negeri. Dan Ulubelu kembali
menorehkan catatan penting sebagai pionir melalui
Groundbreaking Pilot Plant Green Hydrogen. Ke depan, Pilot
Plant Ulubelu lebih dari persoalan teknologi atau investasi. Ini
adalah tentang warisan berharga yang akan kita titipkan
kepada generasi mendatang, terang Mochamad Iriawan.
Direktur Utama PT Pertamina (Persero), Simon Aloysius
Mantiri mengatakan, Groundbreaking ini bukan hanya tonggak
sejarah bagi Pertamina, tapi langkah konkret Pertamina group
untuk mewujudkan visi menjadi perusahaan energi bersih
kelas dunia.
Pengembangan green hydrogen selaras dengan dual growth
strategy Pertamina Group, yaitu dalam hal mengembangkan
portofolio bisnis rendah karbon untuk masa depan
berkelanjutan, jelas Simon.
Melalui inisiatif ini, lanjut Simon, Pertamina membuktikan
teknologi green hydrogen berbasis panas bumi dapat

diterapkan secara nyata. Proyek ini juga menjadi fondasi
regulasi, standar, dan model bisnis hidrogen di Indonesia., dan
menjadi ekosistem energi baru yang bisa direplikasi di wilayah
lain.
Turut hadir Gubernur Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal,
mengatakan, proyek plant green Hydrogen merupakan saksi
bahwa dari sebuah daerah di Lampung, Indonesia mampu
memberikan kontribusi besar bagi bangsa bahkan bagi dunia.
Ulubelu telah membuktikan bahwa transisi energi bukanlah
wacana, melainkan kenyataan yang terus berjalan dan
berkembang.
Mari kita jadikan Groundbreaking Pilot Plant Green Hydrogen
Ulubelu ini sebagai awal perjalanan besar menuju Indonesia
yang lebih hijau, mandiri energi, dan berdaya saing global,
ucap Rahmat.
Pilot Plant Green Hydrogen Ulubelu ini diproyeksikan juga
sebagai pusat pembelajaran teknologi dan uji kelayakan
komersial, termasuk studi permintaan serta kualitas produk
untuk fase berikutnya. Proyek ini mengintegrasikan energi
panas bumi dengan teknologi terbaru AEM electrolyzer,
menjadikannya pionir di dunia sekaligus mempertegas arah
transformasi portofolio energi bersih.
Pilot Plant Green Hydrogen Ulubelu ditargetkan mulai
beroperasi pada 2026 dengan nilai investasi sekitar USD 3
juta. Hidrogen hijau yang dihasilkan akan dimanfaatkan untuk
uji pasar, termasuk ke sektor transportasi dan industri.
Turut hadir pada peresmian, Wakil Menteri Investasi dan
Hilirisasi/BKPM Todotua Pasaribu, jajaran Direksi PT
Pertamina (Persero), Direksi dan Jajaran Manajemen
Subholding Pertamina and New Renewable Energi (PT
Pertamina Power Indonesia), Direksi dan Jajaran Manajemen

Description of Material Information or PT Pertamina (Persero) through PT Pertamina Geothermal
Facts Energy Tbk (PGE) officially broke ground on the construction
of the Ulubelu Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant in Ulubelu,
Lampung, on September 9, 2025.
This facility is the first in the world to integrate Anion Exchange
Membrane (AEM) electrolyzer technology with geothermal
energy as a clean electricity source. This pilot plant is an
important breakthrough for Pertamina in supporting energy
transition, accelerating clean energy mix, and supporting the
2060 Net Zero Emission (NZE) target.
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM),
Yuliot Tanjung, expressed his appreciation to Pertamina and
PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk for carrying out
business transformation by integrating investments in
geothermal power plants (PLTP) with the Green Hydrogen
Industry.
According to Yuliot, green hydrogen is a low-emission,
environmentally friendly energy source. Sooner or later,
renewable energy will gradually disrupt fossil fuels, which are
currently Pertamina's core business. The development of
green hydrogen will add to the list of green energy sources,
but they have the potential to influence each other.
With more alternatives available, the public will certainly
compare which is more effective and efficient. A more varied
selection of renewable energy options will benefit consumers
in choosing higher quality energy sources that do not have a
negative impact on the environment, explained Yuliot.
On the same occasion, Pertamina's President Commissioner,
Mochamad Iriawan, said that Ulubelu has once again made
important history for Indonesia. In line with President Prabowo
Subianto's Asta Cita, Pertamina has a big mandate to achieve
energy self-sufficiency and contribute to energy transition.
Ulubelu is a geothermal energy area that has long provided
benefits to the country. And Ulubelu has once again made an
important mark as a pioneer through the Groundbreaking Pilot
Plant Green Hydrogen. Going forward, the Ulubelu Pilot Plant
is more than just a matter of technology or investment. It is
about a valuable legacy that we will pass on to future
generations, explained Mochamad Iriawan.
PT Pertamina (Persero) President Director Simon Aloysius
Mantiri said that this groundbreaking is not only a milestone for
Pertamina, but also a concrete step by the Pertamina Group to
realize its vision of becoming a world-class clean energy
company.
The development of green hydrogen is in line with the
Pertamina Group's dual growth strategy, which is to develop a
low-carbon business portfolio for a sustainable future,
explained Simon.
Through this initiative, Simon continued, Pertamina has proven
that geothermal-based green hydrogen technology can be
applied in practice. This project also lays the foundation for
hydrogen regulations, standards, and business models in
Indonesia, and creates a new energy ecosystem that can be
replicated in other regions.

Also present was the Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani
Djausal, who said that the green hydrogen plant project is
proof that a region in Lampung, Indonesia, can make a
significant contribution to the nation and even the world.
Ulubelu has proven that energy transition is not just a concept,
but a reality that continues to progress and develop.
Let's make the groundbreaking of the Ulubelu Green Hydrogen
Pilot Plant the beginning of a great journey towards a greener,
energy-independent, and globally competitive Indonesia, said
Rahmat.
The Ulubelu Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant is also projected to be
a center for technology learning and commercial feasibility
testing, including demand studies and product quality for the
next phase. This project integrates geothermal energy with the
latest AEM electrolyzer technology, making it a pioneer in the
world while reinforcing the direction of the clean energy
portfolio transformation.
The Ulubelu Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant is targeted to start
operating in 2026 with an investment value of around USD 3
million. The green hydrogen produced will be used for market
testing, including in the transportation and industrial sectors.
Also present at the inauguration were Deputy Minister of
Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM Todotua
Pasaribu, the Board of Directors of PT Pertamina (Persero),
the Board of Directors and Management of Pertamina and
New Renewable Energy Subholding (PT Pertamina Power
Indonesia), and the Board of Directors and Management of PT
Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk.
