PGN and Mubadala Energy Explore the Potential of Gas Supply from the
Andaman
PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) and Mubadala Energy South Andaman RSC
Ltd (“Mubadala Energy”) will conduct a joint study on the utilization of natural gas and
the development of gas pipeline and/or LNG infrastructure from the South Andaman
Working Area (“WK South Andaman”). This exploration is carried out to follow up on
the potential utilization of natural gas from the Andaman Block, which was formalized
through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between PGN and Mubadala
Energy on Wednesday, (2/7/2025).
"PGN and Mubadala Energy believe in the potential for collaboration as a corporate
action in the exploration and exploitation of the WK South Andaman." The supply of
gas from Andaman can certainly support the enhancement of domestic energy
resilience, in line with the increasing demand for natural gas in the country," explained
PGN's Commercial Director, Ratih Esti Prihartini, (2/7/2025).
Previously, both parties had also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on October
22, 2024, to conduct a special study on the Arun Refinery facility and the regasification
terminal aimed at supporting upstream oil and gas activities.
"PGN involves the roles of its Subsidiaries and Affiliates, Pertagas and Perta Arun
Gas, to assess the readiness of infrastructure that has the potential to be developed
and utilized to support the distribution of natural gas from Andaman to potential
customers. PGN Group prioritizes transparency regarding the data provided for
activities in the WK South Andaman area and pays attention to good corporate
governance (GCG)," Ratih stated.

With a significant production prospect, it is expected to meet the demand for natural
gas in various sectors. In the future, the supply source from Andaman is expected to
be utilized by PGN to meet the demand in the Sumatra to Java region after the Duri-
Dumai-Medan pipeline is constructed. Additionally, it can also be developed in the form
of LNG to meet the needs in all areas of PGN's operational regions.
"This agenda is an important step towards comprehensive cooperation regarding the
utilization of gas from WK South Andaman. Both commercially and in terms of
infrastructure, which need to be ensured to be aligned, so that its utilization can be
optimally felt by all stakeholders," said the President Director of Mubadala Energy
South Andaman RSC LTD, Abdulla Bu Ali.
