Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
terus menegaskan langkahnya dalam mengoptimalkan
pengembangan panas bumi di Sumatra. Terbaru, PGE
melakukan tajak (spud-in) sumur eksplorasi pertama untuk
proyek pengembangan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Panas
Bumi (PLTP) Lumut Balai Unit 3. Momentum ini menjadi
tonggak penting dalam upaya PGE mengakselerasi transisi
energi bersih sekaligus memperkuat ketahanan energi
nasional menjelang peringatan 100 tahun pengembangan
panas bumi di Indonesia.
Kegiatan tajak turut dihadir oleh Pjs GM Area Lumut Balai
Bayu Febriandana dan Project Manager Lumut Balai Unit 3&4
Heri Susanto.
Direktur Utama PGE Ahmad Yani dalam sambutannya
menegaskan bahwa pengembangan Lumut Balai Unit 3
merupakan komitmen nyata Perseroan dalam menjawab
tantangan kebutuhan energi masa depan, khususnya untuk
wilayah Sumatra.
Sebagai world leading geothermal producer, PGE memahami
bahwa ketahanan energi nasional memerlukan pasokan listrik
yang tidak hanya bersih, tetapi juga stabil dan andal. Di tengah
dinamika energi global, panas bumi hadir sebagai sumber
energi baseload lokal yang mampu menjawab kebutuhan
tersebut. Tajak sumur pertama PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3 ini
menjadi langkah konkret kami dalam menghadirkan energi
yang bersih dan tangguh demi menopang pertumbuhan
ekonomi nasional, ujar Ahmad Yani.
Tajak perdana PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3 dilakukan di sumur
LMB 19-3 yang berlokasi di Desa Babatan, Kecamatan
Semende Darat Ulu menggunakan rig GDAP#123. Dengan
target kedalaman 2.500 meter, pengeboran ini diperkirakan
rampung dalam 44 hari. Seluruh rangkaian kegiatan eksplorasi
sumur hingga pembangunan PLTP dijalankan dengan
kepatuhan ketat terhadap standar teknis, operasional, serta
aspek Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE).
Terletak di kaki Bukit Lumut Balai, Muara Enim, Sumatra
Selatan, PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3 merupakan kelanjutan dari
dua proyek strategis PGE di Wilayah Kerja Panas Bumi (WKP)
Lumut Balai dan Margabayur. Sebelumnya, PGE telah
mengoperasikan Unit 1 yang diresmikan pada September
2019 dan Unit 2 pada Juni 2025, dengan total kapasitas
gabungan sebesar 2x55 megawatt (MW).
Dengan target operasional pada tahun 2030, PLTP Lumut
Balai Unit 3 akan menambah 55 MW pasokan listrik bersih,
yang akan semakin memperkuat sistem kelistrikan di wilayah
Muara Enim dan Sumatra Selatan.
Proyek PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3 merupakan bagian dari
roadmap jangka panjang PGE untuk mencapai total potensi
kapasitas panas bumi sebesar 3 gigawatt (GW), sekaligus
selaras dengan Rencana Usaha Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik
(RUPTL) 2025 - 2034.
Bersama dengan proyek PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 4 yang juga
telah dimulai pengembangannya April lalu, kepercayaan pasar
terhadap kedua proyek ini semakin diperkuat pada Juni lalu, di
mana PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3 dan 4 telah resmi masuk ke

dalam Green Book 2026 yang diterbitkan Kementerian
PPN/Bappenas. Hal ini membuka akses pendanaan melalui
potensi pinjaman luar negeri senilai US$158,86 juta untuk
mengakselerasi pengembangan proyek Lumut Balai Unit 3,
dan US$148,97 juta untuk proyek Lumut Balai Unit 4.
Saat ini, PGE telah mengelola kapasitas terpasang sebesar
727 MW di enam wilayah operasi. Selain PLTP Lumut Balai
Unit 3, PGE juga tengah agresif menggarap sejumlah proyek
strategis lainnya, antara lain PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 4 (55
MW), PLTP Lahendong Unit 7 & 8 (50 MW), PLTP Hululais
Unit 1 dan 2 (110 MW), eksplorasi Gunung Tiga, serta
beberapa proyek co-generation bekerja sama dengan PLN
Indonesia Power dengan total kapasitas 230 MW.
Melalui portofolio yang solid dan ekspansi yang terukur, PGE
terus memantapkan posisinya di garda terdepan dalam
memperkuat kapasitas domestik, menjaga kedaulatan energi,
dan memimpin transisi menuju masa depan Indonesia yang
berkelanjutan.

Facts continues to advance its efforts to optimize geothermal
development in Sumatra. Most recently, PGE spudded the first
exploration well for the Lumut Balai Unit 3 Geothermal Power
Plant (PLTP) development project. This milestone marks a
significant step in PGEs efforts to accelerate the clean energy
transition while strengthening national energy security ahead
of the 100th anniversary of geothermal development in
Indonesia.
The spud-in ceremony was attended by Acting General
Manager of the Lumut Balai Area Bayu Febriandana and
Project Manager for Lumut Balai Units 3 & 4 Heri Susanto.
In his remarks, PGE President Director Ahmad Yani
emphasized that the development of Lumut Balai Unit 3
represents the Companys concrete commitment to addressing
future energy needs, particularly for the Sumatra region.
As a world-leading geothermal producer, PGE understands
that national energy security requires an electricity supply that
is not only clean but also stable and reliable. Amid global
energy dynamics, geothermal energy serves as a local
baseload energy source capable of meeting these needs. The
first well drilling for the Lumut Balai Unit 3 Geothermal Power
Plant is a concrete step we are taking to provide clean and
resilient energy to support national economic growth, said
Ahmad Yani.
The first drilling for Unit 3 of the Lumut Balai Geothermal
Power Plant was conducted at the LMB 19-3 well, located in
Babatan Village, Semende Darat Ulu Subdistrict, using the
GDAP#123 rig. With a target depth of 2,500 meters, this
drilling is expected to be completed in 44 days. The entire
process, from well exploration to the construction of the
geothermal power plant, is being carried out in strict
compliance with technical and operational standards, as well
as Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE)
requirements.
Located at the foot of Bukit Lumut Balai in Muara Enim, South
Sumatra, the Lumut Balai Unit 3 Geothermal Power Plant is a
continuation of two strategic PGE projects in the Lumut Balai
and Margabayur Geothermal Working Areas (GWAs).
Previously, PGE had commissioned Unit 1 in September 2019
and Unit 2 in June 2025, with a combined total capacity of
2x55 megawatts (MW).
With a target operational date of 2030, the Lumut Balai
Geothermal Power Plant Unit 3 will add 55 MW of clean
electricity supply, which will further strengthen the power
system in the Muara Enim and South Sumatra regions.
The Lumut Balai Geothermal Power Plant Unit 3 project is part
of PGEs long-term roadmap to achieve a total geothermal
capacity potential of 3 gigawatts (GW), while aligning with the
2025 - 2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL).
Along with the Lumut Balai Unit 4 geothermal power plant
project, whose development also began last April, market
confidence in these two projects was further strengthened last
June, when Lumut Balai Units 3 and 4 were officially included

in the 2026 Green Book published by the Ministry of National
Development Planning/Bappenas. This opens up access to
funding through potential foreign loans totaling US$158.86
million to accelerate the development of the Lumut Balai Unit 3
project, and US$148.97 million for the Lumut Balai Unit 4
project.
Currently, PGE manages an installed capacity of 727 MW
across six operational regions. In addition to the Lumut Balai
Unit 3 geothermal power plant, PGE is also aggressively
pursuing a number of other strategic projects, including the
Lumut Balai Unit 4 geothermal power plant (55 MW), the
Lahendong Units 7 & 8 geothermal power plant (50 MW), the
Hululais Units 1 and 2 geothermal power plant (110 MW), the
Gunung Tiga exploration project, and several cogeneration
projects in collaboration with PLN Indonesia Power with a total
capacity of 230 MW.
Through a solid portfolio and measured expansion, PGE
continues to solidify its position at the forefront of
strengthening domestic capacity, safeguarding energy
sovereignty, and leading the transition toward a sustainable
future for Indonesia.
