SMBC Indonesia Records Asset and Profit Growths in 2024, Reinforcing Its
Commitment to Do Good, Be Great

Jakarta, March 3, 2025 – PT Bank SMBC Indonesia Tbk (SMBC Indonesia) has posted positive financial
results for the 2024 fiscal year. The company successfully recorded growths in net profit, credit
disbursement, third-party funds, and total assets, highlighting the strength of SMBC Indonesia’s business
foundation in fostering long-term sustainability and delivering meaningful growth to public members.

Henoch Munandar, President Director of SMBC Indonesia, said, “With last year’s remarkable success as
our foundation, we remain committed to delivering relevant and responsive financial solutions to our
customers’ needs.”

“Our brand transformation, initiated towards the end of last year, will continue driving sustainable growth
and generating real benefits for societies and the economy. Through close collaboration with
stakeholders, we aim to Do Good, Be Great.”

The transformation of the SMBC Indonesia brand continues in 2025 with the inauguration of branches in
six key cities—Surabaya, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Medan, and Makassar—starting in early
February. This expansion reinforces the bank’s commitment to delivering integrated financial services
across various customer segments and solidifies its reputation as a globally connected bank with a deep-
rooted legacy of local excellence.

As part of its strategic business expansion, SMBC Indonesia finalized the acquisition of PT Oto Multiartha
(OTO) and PT Summit Oto Finance (SOF), or the OTO Group, in March 2024.

SMBC Indonesia recorded a 20% increase in total consolidated assets, reaching Rp241.1 trillion at the end
of 2024. Net profit after tax grew by 10% compared to the previous year, amounting to Rp2.8 trillion.
Excluding the effects of the OTO Group acquisition, the combined net profit of SMBC Indonesia and BTPN
Syariah rose by around 8%.

Demonstrating its strong commitment, SMBC Indonesia recorded 15% growth in total consolidated loan
disbursement, reaching Rp179.4 trillion at the end of 2024. Retail lending was the key driver with
significant growth of 31% due to notable increases in Joint Finance (389%), Jenius (51%), and Micro (40%).
This growth helped balance the decline in BTPN Syariah’s financing, which prioritized financing quality
throughout the year.

Lending to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) also increased by 8%. On the other hand, corporate loans
declined 6% in 2024, affected by fluctuating interest rates and tight competition in corporate lending
rates. In response to the market dynamics, SMBC Indonesia plans to refine its corporate loan portfolio
strategy, ensuring a more tailored and efficient approach to meeting corporate clients' financing needs.

Total third-party funds at SMBC Indonesia increased by 12%, reaching Rp121.3 trillion. The current
account and savings account (CASA) balance grew by 3% to Rp45.6 trillion, while total deposits saw an
18% rise, reaching Rp75.7 trillion by the end of December 2024.

The increase in consolidated net profit was driven by a 27% rise in operating income, reaching Rp17.4
trillion. This was contributed by a 26% increase in net interest income to Rp15.2 trillion and 31% growth
in non-interest income to Rp2.2 trillion.

The growth in consolidated net interest income was supported by an increase in net interest margin (NIM),
which rose to 7.10% in December 2024 from 6.45% in the previous year.

The rise in net interest income was mainly attributed to growth in interest income from loan
disbursement, the strategic deployment of liquid assets such as in securities, and net interest income
generated by the OTO Group.

Meanwhile, the bank’s fee income increased due to a higher volume of credit card transactions, expanded
bancassurance product sales, and growth in cash management and trade services.

The bank has incorporated the OTO Group into its consolidated financial results since the acquisition,
recording operating expenses of Rp9.4 trillion. In 2024, credit costs totaled Rp3.9 trillion. The rise in these
fitures reflects the expansion in business volume and other strategic initiatives undertaken by SMBC
Indonesia.

As of December 2024, the bank maintained strong liquidity positions, with the Liquidity Coverage Ratio
(LCR) at 253.71% and the Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) at 125.02%. Meanwhile, the capital adequacy
ratio (CAR) stood at 30.02%.

The consolidated gross non-performing loan (NPL) ratio stood at 2.5% as of December 2024, rising from
1.36% in the previous year. With the OTO Group, SMBC Indonesia remains committed to implementing
sound risk management practices.

Sustainable Growth
Through its corporate segment, SMBC Indonesia continues its commitment to sustainable business
practices in Indonesia by organizing workshops on Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) for
corporate clients. These workshops aim to support clients in transitioning toward net-zero emissions by
enhancing their understanding of ESG principles. SMBC Indonesia’s ongoing sustainability efforts also led
to its selection by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as one of the banks participating in the pilot
project for Indonesia’s Green Taxonomy reporting, opening new financing and ESG-related opportunities
for corporate clients.

Jenius, SMBC Indonesia’s life finance solution designed for digital-savvy customers, continues solidifying
its leadership in Indonesia’s digital banking landscape. As of December 2024, Jenius had 5.9 million
registered users, reflecting 13% year-on-year growth.

Jenius also recorded a 16% increase in third-party funds, reaching Rp29.5 trillion, and 51% growth in loan
disbursement, totaling Rp3.3 trillion by the end of December 2024. This strong performance highlights
Jenius’ role in driving financial inclusion and expanding access to digital banking services across various

customer segments. Jenius’ credit products include Flexi Cash, Digital Micro, Jenius Credit Card, and Jenius

Daya Program Reaches Over 10 million Participants

Daya program. In 2024, more than 10.3 million participants benefited from 12,159 empowerment
activities, marking an increase from 2023, when 11,359 activities reached over 5.5 million participants.

Through the Daya program, SMBC Indonesia consistently continues to support the development of the
SME sector and strengthen the capabilities of business owners. In 2024, the program facilitated 21
entrepreneurship seminars attended by over 3,000 participants and conducted 134 mentoring sessions

To expand its impact, SMBC Indonesia leverages Daya.id, an online platform providing valuable business
management insights. In 2024, the portal attracted 1.9 million visitors. Additionally, SMBC Indonesia
continues to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by distributing Daya infographics on
business management. Over the past year, SMBC Indonesia shared 10 infographic editions to 400 MSME
entrepreneurs to help support their businesses.

SMBC Indonesia appreciates the ongoing collaboration with trusted partners, including PT Tangan Di Atas
(TDA) and the Indonesian Entrepreneurship Study Program Alliance (APSKI), contributions of which help
sustain the Daya program. The company continues to position the Daya program as a key driver of
sustainable growth in Indonesia’s SME sector.
