BUMI’s Subsidiary, Arutmin, Wins Prestigious Gold PROPER Award
Jakarta, 26th February 2025
PT Arutmin Indonesia (Arutmin), a subsidiary of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), has been awarded the
gold award by the Ministry of Environment (KLH) in Program Penilaian Peringkat Kerja Perusahaan
(PROPER) for the 2023-2024 period. The Gold PROPER award is the highest recognition given to
companies with outstanding performance in environmental management, sustainability, and social
responsibility. The award ceremony took place at Sasono Langen Budoyo, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah
(TMII), Jakarta on Monday (24/2).
The event was attended by the Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisal Nurofiq, the Vice Minister of
Environment, Diaz Faisal Malik Hendropriyono, the Deputy for Pollution Control and Environmental
Damage (PPKL) BPLH, Rasio Ridho Sani, along with other KLH representatives, and award-winning
companies.
In this event, Arutmin received six PROPER awards in various categories. Arutmin Kintap Mine received
the Gold PROPER award. The program that brings Arutmin Kintap into this recognition was the Bioaditif
Serai Wangi through the Kintap Mining Community Synergy Program (Terangi Simantap). This program
utilizes marginal land to cultivate lemongrass, which is processed into bioadditives. The prestigious
award was directly received by Ido Hutabarat, CEO of Arutmin.
Additionally, Arutmin also received several Green PROPER awards. Arutmin Asamasam Mine won
Green PROPER through the Pupuk Manik Permata program, which uses humic acid from fine coal dust
to accelerate plant seedling growth. Arutmin Satui Mine also earned the Green PROPER award through
the HIACE program, which replaces diesel-powered excavators with hybrid electric excavators to reduce
vehicle emissions. Moreover, Arutmin Batulicin Mine received a Green PROPER award for its KOMPAS
(Simple Mass Organic Compost Production Tool / Kompos Organik Massal Produksi Alat Sederhana)
program, which creates plant nursery media without polybags to reduce plastic waste. Lastly, Arutmin
NPLCT received the Green PROPER award for its program planting rambai trees as an alternative food
source for the proboscis monkey, aimed at supporting the survival of the proboscis monkey population
around the NPLCT area.

Furthermore, KLH also awarded Arutmin the Blue PROPER award. This award was given to Arutmin
Senakin Mine for its program utilizing activated carbon filters from invasive acacia plants in reclamation
areas to reduce water pollutant loads.
“This achievement proves that Arutmin is not only focused on producing coal for national energy
security, but is also committed to preserving the environment and fulfilling its social responsibility across
all of its operations,” said Ido Hutabarat, Director of BUMI and CEO of Arutmin.
