Press Release
Towards the End of 2024, PT Elnusa Tbk Embarks on Its First
Seismic Survey in Coal Mining Areas Using Advanced Vibroseis and
Modern Receivers
Jakarta, 25 November 2024 – PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa, IDX: ELSA), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) under Pertamina's Upstream
Subholding, has commenced its first seismic survey in the coal mining concession area of PT Wahana Baratama Mining (a member of the
Bayan Group) located in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan. This milestone highlights Elnusa's new chapter in coal mining exploration
in Indonesia, leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver accurate, efficient, and environmentally friendly exploration data.
Elnusa's President Director, Bachtiar Soeria Atmadja, stated, “This survey is a significant milestone for Elnusa, showcasing our ability to
provide superior geoscience solutions. We remain committed to being adaptive in delivering reliable exploration data to support the
nation’s energy needs,” said Bachtiar.
For this survey, Elnusa employs the Vibroseis IVI EnviroVib 15 and Hemi 44 as vibration sources, renowned for their high mobility and
energy efficiency, making them highly effective in generating high-quality seismic signals. Additionally, the survey is supported by Smart
SOLO IGU-16 1C (5Hz) receivers, an autonomous nodal system with advanced features that make it an ideal choice for advanced geoscience
exploration.
“The technologies we utilize, such as Vibroseis and Smart SOLO, enable us to deliver accurate, efficient, and customer-relevant exploration
data,” Bachtiar added.
Elnusa has completed the initial design for the 3D survey covering an area of 25.85 km² and comprising 9,132 recording points.
Furthermore, the survey includes seven 2D survey lines with a total length of 13.14 km, covering 1,321 recording points. “This design is
expected to produce more detailed and accurate subsurface data, supporting strategic decision-making in exploration,” explained Andi
Mahri, the Party Chief for this project.
As part of Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, Elnusa continues to support the development of the energy sector through innovation and
exceptional services. This seismic survey initiative underscores the company’s dedication to maximizing the potential of energy resources
for a more sustainable future.
