BUMI Participates in International Human Rights Discussions
Jakarta, 8th October 2024
PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (BUMI) took part in the United Nations Responsible Business and
Human Rights Forum (UN RBHR). UN RBHR is a UN human rights forum which is held by the
United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Asia Pacific annually and attended by a number
of international companies and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations). This year, the UN
RBHR was held on September 24th-27th, 2024 at the UN Office, Bangkok, Thailand.
In this events, BUMI, represented by the Human Rights Coordinating Team, had the opportunity
to be a speaker in a dialogue event entitled "Promoting Responsible Business Practices through
Effective Remediation" on September 27th, 2024.
Foundation for International Human Rights Reporting Standards (FIHRRST) hosted the session.
The session aims to create a platform for innovation and collaboration, encouraging companies
from the extractive industries to engage in dialogue with stakeholders, including communities,
governments, and civil organizations. In addition, with peer-to-peer learning, this session aims to
identify and share best practices to help companies innovate in order to improve human rights
performance and ensure companies can provide more effective and comprehensive solutions to
the human rights challenges they face.
The things that BUMI conveyed in the session were the company's progress in handling human
rights complaints (grievance mechanism), access to remediation, resettlement programs, and
BUMI's journey to improve human rights performance, especially in the aspect of human rights
due diligence.
President Director of PT Bumi Resources Tbk., Adika Nuraga Bakrie, said "BUMI's presence in
the Asia Pacific Human Rights forum is a proof that BUMI's human rights journey and
performance have received recognition, not only at the national level, but also internationally.
We will continue to improve the spirit and performance of BUMI's human rights in the future, in

line with the company's vision in its concern for best practices in community, environment,
occupational health and safety, workers and our supply chain aspects, all of it intersect with
respect for human rights."
For your information, this forum explores the solutions needed to realize effective human rights
resolution and justice in the Asia and Pacific region, especially in certain sectors, such as the
extractive industry, as the core of a sustainable business model.
