Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
berkomitmen mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan energi panas
bumi, salah satunya dengan mempercepat produksi hidrogen
hijau skala komersial. Komitmen ini diwujudkan melalui inisiatif
PGE untuk menjalankan pilot project hidrogen hijau di PGE
Area Ulubelu, sebagai salah satu potensi sumber pendapatan
baru di luar sektor ketenagalistrikan (beyond electricity).
Dalam rangka mempercepat pengembangan dan
meningkatkan keekonomian hidrogen hijau yang
memanfaatkan listrik panas bumi, menurunkan Levelized Cost
of Green Hydrogen (LCOGH) melalui pemilihan teknologi yang
tepat pada rantai produksi hidrogen hijau menjadi sangat
penting. Salah satu langkah strategis yang baru saja diambil
oleh PGE adalah dengan melakukan penandatanganan nota
kesepahaman (MoU) bersama PT Pertamina Power Indonesia
(Pertamina New & Renewable Energy/Pertamina NRE) dan
Genvia - Perusahaan asal Prancis dengan fokus pada riset
elektrolisis berbasis Solid Oxide Electrolyzer (SOEL), yang
mampu mengurangi penggunaan listrik dalam proses produksi
hidrogen hingga 30%.
Penandatanganan MoU tersebut dilakukan oleh Direktur
Utama Pertamina NRE John Anis, Direktur Utama PGE Julfi
Hadi, dan Direktur Utama Genvia Florence Lambert di ajang
Indonesia-France Business Forum yang dilaksanakan di Paris,
Prancis (26/9). Turut hadir dalam forum ini adalah Duta Besar
Luar Biasa dan Berkuasa Penuh (LBBP) Republik Indonesia
untuk Prancis, Andorra, Monako, serta Delegasi Tetap
Republik Indonesia untuk UNESCO Mohamad Oemar.
MoU ini mengatur kerja sama antara Pertamina NRE, PGE,
dan Genvia untuk studi bersama terkait pengembangan
hidrogen rendah karbon dengan memadukan teknologi SOEL
dari Genvia dan pembangkit listrik tenaga panas bumi (PLTP)
combined heat and power (CHP) milik PGE.
Studi pengembangan hidrogen rendah karbon ini bermula dari
kesepakatan yang dijalin Pertamina NRE dan Genvia pada Juli
2024 untuk studi awal integrasi energi panas bumi dengan
teknologi SOEL. Hasil studi penerapan teknologi rencananya
akan diimplementasikan di salah satu Wilayah Kerja Panas
Bumi (WKP) PGE. Skema teknologi ini diharapkan dapat
menjadi model keekonomian bisnis hidrogen hijau berbasis
listrik panas bumi yang menarik dan kompetitif di pasar.
Julfi Hadi mengapresiasi kemitraan ini sebagai wujud sinergi
dan komitmen Pertamina Group dan Genvia yang dapat
memberikan nilai strategis dan menandai era PGE memasuki
pasar energi hijau global. Kemitraan ini adalah langkah nyata
dalam memperkuat kolaborasi lintas negara untuk memajukan
pengembangan dan pengadopsian energi hijau secara
menyeluruh. Nilai strategis pengembangan hidrogen hijau
bukan hanya menciptakan sumber pendapatan baru, tetapi
sebagai inisiatif pemanfaatan potensi panas bumi yang
melimpah di Indonesia secara non-konvensional, kata Julfi
Hadi.
John Anis menambahkan bahwa kolaborasi ini tidak hanya
menambah portofolio praktik terbaik (best practice) Pertamina
Group dalam produksi energi hijau, tetapi juga memperkuat
upaya dekarbonisasi global. Kami di Pertamina sangat
antusias dengan kemitraan bersama Genvia ini, yang kami

yakini akan mempercepat pengembangan hidrogen hijau di
Indonesia. Kolaborasi ini menegaskan komitmen kami untuk
mengeksplorasi solusi inovatif guna mencapai produksi
hidrogen yang efisien dan memaksimalkan potensi energi
hijau Indonesia, seperti panas bumi, tutur John Anis.
Genvia merupakan sebuah usaha patungan publik-swasta
yang dibentuk oleh beberapa perusahaan dan organisasi
terkemuka, yaitu CEA (Komisi Energi Alternatif dan Energi
Atom Prancis), Schlumberger, Vinci Construction, Vicat, dan
pemerintah daerah Occitanie di Prancis, untuk mempercepat
pengembangan teknologi hidrogen bersih.

Description of Material Information or PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) is
Facts committed to optimizing the utilization of geothermal energy,
one of which is by accelerating commercial-scale green
hydrogen production. This commitment is realized through
PGE's initiative to run a green hydrogen pilot project at PGE
Ulubelu Area, as one of the potential new sources of revenue
beyond the electricity sector.
In order to accelerate the development and improve the
economics of green hydrogen utilizing geothermal electricity,
reducing the Levelized Cost of Green Hydrogen (LCOGH)
through the selection of the right technology in the green
hydrogen production chain is very important. One of the
strategic steps recently taken by PGE was the signing of a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Pertamina
Power Indonesia (Pertamina New & Renewable
Energy/Pertamina NRE) and Genvia - a French company with
a focus on electrolysis research based on Solid Oxide
Electrolyzer (SOEL), which is able to reduce the use of
electricity in the hydrogen production process by up to 30%.
The MoU was signed by Pertamina NRE President Director
John Anis, PGE President Director Julfi Hadi, and Genvia
President Director Florence Lambert at the Indonesia-France
Business Forum held in Paris, France (26/9). Also attending
the forum were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of the Republic of Indonesia to France, Andorra, Monaco, and
Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Indonesia to UNESCO
Mohamad Oemar.
The MoU regulates cooperation between Pertamina NRE,
PGE, and Genvia for a joint study on the development of low-
carbon hydrogen by combining Genvia's SOEL technology and
PGE's combined heat and power (CHP) geothermal power
plant.
The low-carbon hydrogen development study stems from an
agreement between Pertamina NRE and Genvia in July 2024
for an initial study of the integration of geothermal energy with
SOEL technology. The results of the technology application
study are planned to be implemented in one of PGE's
Geothermal Working Areas (WKP). This technology scheme is
expected to become an attractive and competitive green
hydrogen business economic model based on geothermal
electricity in the market.
Julfi Hadi appreciated this partnership as a form of synergy
and commitment between Pertamina Group and Genvia that
can provide strategic value and mark the era of PGE entering
the global green energy market. This partnership is a real step
in strengthening cross-country collaboration to advance the
development and adoption of green energy as a whole. The
strategic value of green hydrogen development is not only to
create a new source of revenue, but as an initiative to utilize
the abundant geothermal potential in Indonesia in an
unconventional manner, said Julfi Hadi.
John Anis added that this collaboration not only adds to
Pertamina Group's portfolio of best practices in green energy
production, but also strengthens global decarbonization efforts.

hydrogen production and maximize Indonesia's green energy

Genvia is a public-private joint venture formed by several
leading companies and organizations, namely CEA (French
Alternative Energy and Atomic Energy Commission),
Schlumberger, Vinci Construction, Vicat, and the Occitanie
regional government in France, to accelerate the development
of clean hydrogen technology.
