Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material Pada ajang Indonesia International Geothermal Convention &
Exhibition (IIGCE) 2024, Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi)
mengunjungi paviliun PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk
(PGE), Rabu (18/9). Didampingi Menteri Energi dan Sumber
Daya Mineral Bahlil Lahadalia, Menteri BUMN Erick Thohir,
Menteri ATR/BPN Agus Yudhoyono, Kapolri Listyo Sigit
Prabowo, Direktur Jenderal EBTKE Eniya Listiani Dewi, dan
Direktur Utama PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati,
Presiden Jokowi mendengarkan langsung berbagai inisiatif
PGE dalam optimalisasi teknologi guna memaksimalkan
potensi panas bumi Indonesia.
Direktur Utama PGE Julfi Hadi yang menyambut kunjungan
Presiden Jokowi memaparkan sejumlah langkah strategis
untuk mempercepat pengembangan energi panas bumi di
Indonesia. Kepada Presiden, Julfi Hadi menyampaikan bahwa
PGE mengelola sumber daya panas bumi yang besar yang
diimbangi dengan kapasitas mumpuni untuk membuka potensi
panas bumi Indonesia.
PGE juga telah melakukan berbagai inisiatif yang mencakup
peningkatan nilai komersial proyek, pengurangan biaya
pengembangan, peningkatan kapasitas produksi, serta
pengembangan teknologi inovatif seperti perangkat Flow2Max
untuk mengukur fluida dua fasa panas bumi yang dipamerkan
di ajang ICGE 2024.
PGE berkomitmen untuk mencapai target kapasitas terpasang
1 GW dalam 2-3 tahun ke depan dan berencana untuk
menciptakan ekosistem ideal untuk pengembangan panas
bumi di Indonesia. Dengan inovasi dan adopsi teknologi yang
kami terapkan, kami mampu meningkatkan efisiensi operasi
dan memaksimalkan output dari setiap sumur panas bumi
yang dikelola perusahaan, ujar Julfi Hadi dalam paparan
kepada Presiden Jokowi.
Pada kesempatan yang sama, salah satu perwira PGE,
Mohamad Husni Mubarok, PhD, penemu Flow2Max,
memberikan pemaparan kepada Presiden Jokowi bahwa alat
temuannya itu dirancang untuk mengatasi tantangan utama
dalam pengelolaan reservoir panas bumi, yaitu belum
tersedianya alat ukur fluida dua fasa panas bumi yang andal
dan akurat. Kemampuan pengukuran kinerja sumur panas
bumi secara akurat dan waktu nyata (real time) yang diberikan
Flow2Max memungkinkan pengembang panas bumi
melakukan efisiensi dan optimalisasi operasi serta
memaksimalkan produksi energi.
Flow2Max yang telah dipatenkan di enam negara ini adalah
terobosan teknologi pertama di dunia yang meningkatkan
efisiensi operasional proyek panas bumi dan membuka jalan
bagi masa depan energi panas bumi berkelanjutan di
Indonesia dan dunia, kata Husni.
Dalam diskusi panel sesi pleno IIGCE 2024 bertajuk Making
Geothermal The Energy of Today: Best Practices and
Breakthroughs pada Kamis (19/9), Direktur Operasi PGE
Ahmad Yani menekankan bahwa adopsi teknologi terbaru
adalah kunci untuk meningkatkan efisiensi yang berujung pada
pengurangan biaya pengembangan dan operasi panas bumi.
Selain Flow2Max, PGE saat ini juga memanfaatkan teknologi
organic rankine cycle (ORC) untuk optimalisasi pembangkit
listrik panas bumi melalui proyek co-generation.

Teknologi tidak hanya meningkatkan efisiensi operasional
tetapi juga berkontribusi pada penggunaan sumber daya
panas bumi yang lebih berkelanjutan dan efektif. Kami sangat
antusias dengan potensi teknologi yang kami miliki untuk
mentransformasi dan meningkatkan kinerja proyek-proyek
panas bumi, ujar Ahmad Yani dalam paparannya.
Adopsi teknologi baru merupakan salah satu strategi yang
ditawarkan PGE untuk menurunkan biaya pengembangan
sehingga proyek panas bumi menjadi lebih menarik bagi
investor. Strategi lain adalah pembaruan model bisnis dan
diversifikasi bisnis bumi untuk menghasilkan produk di luar
ketenagalistrikan seperti green hydrogen, green ammonia, dan
silika.
Selain teknologi, terobosan lain yang dijalankan PGE adalah
membangun portofolio bisnis melalui integrasi vertikal sektor
panas bumi, terutama di sektor manufaktur. Bersama sejumlah
mitra di dalam negeri, PGE sedang menjajaki peluang untuk
manufaktur komponen utama pembangkit listrik panas bumi
seperti heat exchanger dan kondensor.
Dengan menggenggam kemampuan produksi komponen
dalam negeri serta ekspansi ke bisnis baru di luar
ketenagalistrikan, PGE tak hanya memperkuat
kepemimpinanya di sektor panas bumi tetapi juga meletakkan
pondasi untuk menjadi geothermal center of excellence di
tingkat global, tutup Ahmad.

Facts Exhibition (IIGCE) 2024, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)
visited the pavilion of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk
(PGE), Wednesday (18/9). Accompanied by Minister of Energy
and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of State-
owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Minister of ATR/BPN Agus
Yudhoyono, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo,
Director General of EBTKE Eniya Listiani Dewi, and President
Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati, President
Jokowi listened directly to various PGE initiatives in optimizing
technology to maximize Indonesia's geothermal potential.
PGE President Director Julfi Hadi, who welcomed President
Jokowi's visit, explained a number of strategic steps to
accelerate the development of geothermal energy in
Indonesia. To the President, Julfi Hadi said that PGE manages
large geothermal resources that are balanced with qualified
capacity to unlock Indonesia's geothermal potential.
PGE has also undertaken various initiatives that include
increasing the commercial value of projects, reducing
development costs, increasing production capacity, as well as
developing innovative technologies such as the Flow2Max
device to measure geothermal two-phase fluids that was
showcased at ICGE 2024.
PGE is committed to achieving the 1 GW installed capacity
target in the next 2-3 years and plans to create an ideal
ecosystem for geothermal development in Indonesia. With our
innovation and technology adoption, we are able to improve
operating efficiency and maximize the output of each
geothermal well managed by the company, Julfi Hadi said in a
presentation to President Jokowi.
On the same occasion, one of PGE's officers, Mohamad Husni
Mubarok, PhD, the inventor of Flow2Max, told President
Jokowi that his invention was designed to overcome the main
challenge in geothermal reservoir management, namely the
unavailability of a reliable and accurate geothermal two-phase
fluid measurement tool. The ability to measure geothermal well
performance accurately and in real time provided by Flow2Max
allows geothermal developers to make efficiency and optimize
operations and maximize energy production.
Flow2Max, which has been patented in six countries, is the
world's first technological breakthrough that improves the
operational efficiency of geothermal projects and paves the
way for the future of sustainable geothermal energy in
Indonesia and the world, Husni said.
In the IIGCE 2024 plenary session panel discussion titled
Making Geothermal The Energy of Today: Best Practices and
Breakthroughs on Thursday (19/9), PGE Operations Director
Ahmad Yani emphasized that the adoption of the latest
technology is key to improving efficiency that leads to reduced
geothermal development and operation costs. In addition to
Flow2Max, PGE currently also utilizes organic rankine cycle
(ORC) technology for the optimization of geothermal power
generation through co-generation projects.
Technology not only improves operational efficiency but also
contributes to a more sustainable and effective use of
geothermal resources. We are excited about the potential of

our technology to transform and improve the performance of
geothermal projects, Ahmad Yani said in his presentation.
Adopting new technologies is one of the strategies PGE offers
to lower development costs so that geothermal projects
become more attractive to investors. Another strategy is the
renewal of the business model and diversification of the
geothermal business to produce products outside of electricity
such as green hydrogen, green ammonia, and silica.
In addition to technology, another breakthrough that PGE has
made is to build a business portfolio through vertical
integration of the geothermal sector, especially in the
manufacturing sector. Together with a number of domestic
partners, PGE is exploring opportunities for manufacturing key
components of geothermal power plants such as heat
exchangers and condensers.
By grasping domestic component production capabilities and
expanding into new businesses outside of electricity, PGE is
not only strengthening its leadership in the geothermal sector
but also laying the foundation to become a geothermal center
of excellence at the global level, Ahmad concluded.
