PGN Secures Strategic Natural Gas Supply Agreements at IPA Convex 2026
Jakarta -- PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN), as Pertamina’s Gas
Subholding, continues to strengthen the sustainability of gas distribution through a
series of strategic agreements for the supply of domestic natural gas and Liquefied
Natural Gas (LNG) at the Indonesian Petroleum Association Convention & Exhibition
2026 (IPA Convex 2026) in Jakarta, Wednesday (20 May).
This initiative forms part of PGN’s long-term strategy to ensure the sustainability of
natural gas supply, enhance distribution flexibility for customers, and support the
growth of national energy demand amidst the dynamics of the global energy industry.
PGN’s Corporate Secretary, Fajriyah Usman, stated that strengthening the
integration of domestic pipeline gas and LNG supplies is a crucial step in ensuring
the reliability of energy distribution for customers across various sectors. “PGN
continues to strengthen the integrated management of natural gas supplies through
a combination of pipeline gas and domestically sourced LNG. This strategy forms part
of the company’s efforts to ensure the sustainability of natural gas supply whilst
enhancing flexibility in meeting customer needs across various regions,” said
Fajriyah.
At IPA Convex 2026, PGN signed a number of strategic natural gas supply
agreements, both through the optimisation of domestic fields and the development of
long-term LNG supply. To strengthen domestic pipeline gas supply, PGN, together
with natural gas suppliers, signed:
- An Amendment to the Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) for the
extension of the natural gas supply contract from the Corridor Work Area (WK) to
meet the needs of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and the domestic gas network
(Jargas);
- Amendments and Restatements to the GPA for the extension of the natural gas
supply contract from Husky-CNOOC Madura Limited (HCML); and
- Key Terms with Medco E&P Sakakemang for the purchase of natural gas supplies
from the Sakakemang Work Area (WK).
Meanwhile, to strengthen distribution flexibility through LNG-based natural gas
supplies, PGN, together with Pertamina and strategic partners, signed:

- Head of Agreement (HoA) for the LNG South Hub;
- Head of Agreement (HoA) for the LNG North Hub; and
- HoA for the purchase of Abadi Masela LNG
as part of securing long-term LNG supplies.
According to Fajriyah, the combination of pipeline-based and LNG gas supplies from
various sources will strengthen PGN’s ability to distribute natural gas to existing
economic growth centres as well as new development areas.
“This collaboration further reinforces PGN’s role as an integrator of national natural
gas infrastructure and supply. Through integrated supply management, PGN,
together with the Pertamina Group, is striving to maintain national energy reliability
whilst supporting economic growth and the transition towards lower-emission
energy,” concluded Fajriyah.
