Membangun AI Factory Hub Indonesia: Kesiapan Pusat Data,
Ketahanan Energi, dan Efisiensi Berskala pada The 12th
Indonesia EBTKE ConEx 2026 di Jakarta, dengan paparan
bertajuk Kesiapan Supply Baseload EBT untuk Data Center
AI.
Menurut data Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital (Komdigi)
dan Asosiasi Penyelenggara Jasa Internet Indonesia (APJII),
Indonesia tengah memasuki era transformasi digital dengan
meningkatnya kebutuhan akan data centre. Perkembangan ini
diidukung oleh 235,26 juta pengguna internet dan 185 fasilitas
yang diperkirakan terus bertambah hingga 2029/2030. Ahmad
stabil, tersedia 24 jam, sekaligus bersih.
sekaligus. Panas bumi adalah energi domestik yang bersih
dan mampu beroperasi sebagai baseload sepanjang waktu,
sehingga sangat cocok menjadi tulang punggung green data
centre di Indonesia, ujar Ahmad Yani.
Ia menambahkan, PGE telah memulai langkah konkret melalui
kajian pengembangan elektrifikasi green data center dengan
energi panas bumi di Area Kamojang, Jawa Barat. Proyek
Guna mendorong optimalisasi pengembangan data center
berbasis EBT, khususnya panas bumi, terdapat beberapa
langkah kunci yang perlu dukungan penuh. Pertama,
menyempurnakan regulasi tarif agar lebih kompetitif,
transparan dan predictable. Kedua, memperluas pemanfaatan
insentif fiskal dan green financing. Ketiga, memperkuat
sinkronisasi WKP, RUPTL, jaringan, PPA, dan target COD.
Keempat, diperlukan penyesuaian strategi dengan kebijakan
pemerintah dalam blueprint pengembangan data center
sekaligus panas bumi nasional, kata Ahmad Yani.
mencakup elektrifikasi green hydrogen, pemanfaatan langsung
panas bumi sekaligus mempercepat pemanfaatan potensi
agenda swasembada energi pemerintah, termasuk alokasi 5,2
Page 3
GW panas bumi dalam RUPTL. Hal ini juga mendukung cita-
cita Indonesia untuk menjadi produsen panas bumi terbesar
dunia pada 2030.
Terlebih, tahun ini bertepatan dengan 100 tahun perjalanan
panas bumi nasional.
dunia, tambah Ahmad Yani.
Raih Empat Penghargaan Apresiasi EBTKE ConEx 2026
(EBTKE) 2026 bidang panas bumi. Pada kategori Penerapan
Teknologi Panas Bumi untuk Pemanfaatan Langsung, PGE
Area Ulubelu meraih Juara 2 melalui Geothermal Greenhouse
dan PGE Area Kamojang meraih Juara 3 melalui Geothermal
Drytube.
Sementara pada kategori Pembukaan Green Jobs dan
Pengembangan SDM Lokal dari Pemanfaatan Langsung
Panas Bumi, PGE Area Kamojang meraih Juara 1 melalui
Geothermal Dryhouse, dan PGE Area Lahendong meraih
Juara 2 melalui Pupuk Booster Katrili.
Ahmad Yani mengatakan, apresiasi tersebut menjadi
semangat bagi PGE untuk terus mengoptimalkan
pengembangan panas bumi nasional.

Description of Material Information or PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
Facts emphasized the readiness of geothermal energy as a
baseload renewable energy source to support the growth of
data centers and the artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem in
Indonesia. This statement was made by PGE President
Director Ahmad Yani while serving as a panelist in the
discussion, Building Indonesias AI Factory Hub: Data Center
Readiness, Energy Resilience, and Scalable Efficiency at The
12th Indonesia EBTKE ConEx 2026 in Jakarta, during a
presentation titled Readiness of Renewable Energy Baseload
Supply for AI Data Centers.
According to data from the Ministry of Communication and
Digital Affairs (Komdigi) and the Indonesian Internet Service
Providers Association (APJII), Indonesia is entering an era of
digital transformation with a growing need for data centers.
This growth is supported by 235.26 million internet users and
185 facilities, a number projected to continue rising through
2029/2030. Ahmad Yani explained that the needs of data
centers and AI factories are highly specific: the electricity
supply must be stable, available 24 hours a day, and clean.
These requirements are difficult to meet with intermittent
renewable energy sources.
Data centers require electricity that is both reliable and green.
Geothermal energy is a clean domestic energy source capable
of operating as a baseload power source around the clock,
making it ideally suited to serve as the backbone of green data
centers in Indonesia, said Ahmad Yani.
He added that PGE has taken concrete steps by conducting a
feasibility study on the development of a green data center
powered by geothermal energy in the Kamojang area of West
Java. The project is designed as a pilot project and proof of
concept to validate the business model, assess the needs of
potential users, and prepare the market.
To promote the optimal development of renewable energy-
based data centers, particularly those powered by geothermal
energy, there are several key steps that require full support.
First, refining tariff regulations to make them more competitive,
transparent, and predictable. Second, expanding the use of
fiscal incentives and green financing. Third, strengthening the
synchronization of WKP, RUPTL, the grid, PPAs, and COD
targets. Fourth, it is necessary to align strategies with
government policies in the national blueprint for data center
and geothermal development, said Ahmad Yani.
This green data center electrification initiative is part of PGEs,
Beyond Electricity, strategy. This strategy also encompasses
green hydrogen electrification, the direct utilization of
geothermal steam, as well as technology and laboratory
services, with the aim of creating new demand for geothermal
energy while accelerating the utilization of untapped potential.
In terms of capacity, PGE is targeting gradual growth toward
approximately 1 gigawatt (GW) by 2028 and approximately 1.8
GW by 2034, which will be supported by a resource portfolio of
approximately 3 GW. This development is optimized through a
clear and measurable project pipeline.
These geothermal development efforts are also in line with the
governments energy self-sufficiency agenda, including the
Page 7
allocation of 5.2 GW of geothermal capacity in the RUPTL.
This also supports Indonesias vision to become the worlds
largest geothermal producer by 2030.
Moreover, this year marks the 100th anniversary of the
national geothermal journey. This is a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity, so we must make the most of it to accelerate
capacity development and realize Indonesias vision of
becoming the worlds largest geothermal producer, added
Ahmad Yani.
Wins Four EBTKE ConEx 2026 Awards
At the same event, PGE won four 2026 New, Renewable, and
Energy Conservation (EBTKE) Appreciation Awards in the
geothermal category. In the Application of Geothermal
Technology for Direct Utilization category, PGE Ulubelu Area
won 2nd place for its Geothermal Greenhouse project, and
PGE Kamojang Area won 3rd place for its Geothermal Drytube
project.
Meanwhile, in the Creation of Green Jobs and Development of
Local Human Resources through Direct Geothermal Utilization
category, PGE Kamojang Area won first place with its
Geothermal Dryhouse, and PGE Lahendong Area won second
place with its Katrili Fertilizer Booster.
Ahmad Yani said that this recognition serves as motivation for
PGE to continue optimizing the development of the nations
geothermal energy.
This award underscores that the success of geothermal
energy is not only measured by the megawatts generated, but
also by the economic benefits and jobs created for the
communities surrounding our operational areas, concluded
Ahmad Yani.
