Uraian Informasi atau Fakta Material PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO)
bersama Fakultas Teknik Universitas Gadjah Mada (FT UGM)
dan PT Agrotekno Estetika Laboratoris resmi menandatangani
Joint Study Development Agreement (JSDA) Project Beyond-
Katrili sebagai langkah strategis dalam mengembangkan
inovasi booster pertanian ramah lingkungan berbasis panas
bumi.
Inisiatif ini menjadikan Katrili sebagai solusi konkret dalam
menjawab tantangan pertanian dan kebutuhan peningkatan
produktivitas pertanian, khususnya di wilayah sekitar
operasional panas bumi seperti Sulawesi Utara. Melalui
Project Katrili, ketiga pihak mengintegrasikan riset energi
panas bumi dengan teknologi pertanian untuk menghasilkan
booster pertanian berbasis silika geotermal yang mampu
meningkatkan kualitas tanah, memperkuat daya tahan
tanaman, serta mendorong peningkatan hasil panen secara
berkelanjutan.
Direktur Operasi PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk Andi
Joko Nugroho menegaskan bahwa hilirisasi energi menjadi
kunci dalam memaksimalkan potensi sumber daya Indonesia.
Kolaborasi ini mempercepat inovasi sekaligus menjadi
implementasi visi kami dalam mendorong pembangunan
berkelanjutan dan ketahanan pangan nasional. Ke depan,
bisnis panas bumi tidak hanya berfokus pada listrik, tetapi
beyond electricity yang berkontribusi di berbagai sektor,
termasuk pertanian. Kami berharap Project Beyond-Katrili
dapat menjadi bagian dari strategi besar PGE, baik untuk
meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian maupun memperluas
pemanfaatan energi panas bumi. Upaya ini akan terus
diperkuat melalui kolaborasi dan riset berkelanjutan agar
manfaatnya dapat dirasakan secara luas oleh masyarakat,
ujarnya.
Katrili mengandung silika dan kitosan yang dikembangkan dari
pemanfaatan limbah kulit udang dan kepiting yang melimpah
di Indonesia. Selain membantu mengurangi limbah,
kandungan kitosan dalam Katrili juga berfungsi melindungi
tanaman dan meningkatkan kualitas pertumbuhan.
Penggunaannya cukup dicampur dengan air dan disiramkan
langsung ke tanah, dengan takaran yang disesuaikan dengan
karakteristik tanah dan jenis komoditas. Saat ini, Katrili telah
diaplikasikan pada berbagai komoditas, seperti tomat varietas
Gustavi, kacang batik, bawang merah, dan padi.
Dekan Fakultas Teknik (FT) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)
Prof. Ir. Selo, Ph.D. menyatakan, Perguruan tinggi berperan
penting dalam menjembatani riset dan implementasi teknologi
di masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan Katrili menjadi
contoh konkret integrasi energi dan pangan, sekaligus
memperkuat posisi Indonesia dalam pengembangan energi
baru terbarukan di tengah dinamika global.
Dari sisi industri pendukung, CEO PT Agrotekno Estetika
Laboratoris Alexander H. Soeriyadi melihat potensi besar
kandungan silika dalam meningkatkan daya tahan tanaman
dan kualitas hasil panen. Sementara itu, tim peneliti FT UGM
yang dipimpin oleh Dr. Pri Utami memastikan bahwa inovasi ini
berbasis pendekatan ilmiah lintas disiplin, menggabungkan
geologi, farmasi, dan pertanian untuk menghasilkan solusi
yang aplikatif dan berkelanjutan.

Secara keseluruhan, proyek Katrili menunjukkan peran
strategis FT UGM dalam menghasilkan inovasi berdampak
nyata melalui kolaborasi dengan industri. Pemanfaatan energi
panas bumi yang terintegrasi dengan sektor pertanian menjadi
langkah penting dalam mendorong kemandirian energi,
ketahanan pangan, serta pertumbuhan ekonomi yang inklusif
dan berkelanjutan di Indonesia.

Description of Material Information or PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO),
Facts together with the Faculty of Engineering at Gadjah Mada
University (FT UGM) and PT Agrotekno Estetika Laboratoris,
officially signed the Joint Study Development Agreement
(JSDA) for the Beyond-Katrili Project as a strategic step toward
developing environmentally friendly geothermal-based
agricultural boosters.
This initiative positions Katrili as a concrete solution to address
agricultural challenges and the need to boost agricultural
productivity, particularly in regions near geothermal operations
such as North Sulawesi. Through the Katrili Project, the three
parties are integrating geothermal energy research with
agricultural technology to produce a geothermal silica-based
agricultural booster capable of improving soil quality,
strengthening plant resilience, and driving sustainable
increases in crop yields.
Andi Joko Nugroho, Director of Operations at PT Pertamina
Geothermal Energy Tbk, emphasized that energy
downstreaming is key to maximizing Indonesias resource
potential.
This collaboration accelerates innovation while also putting our
vision into practice to promote sustainable development and
national food security. Moving forward, the geothermal
business will not only focus on electricity but also on
applications beyond electricity that contribute to various
sectors, including agriculture. We hope that the Beyond-Katrili
Project can become part of PGEs broader strategy, both to
increase agricultural productivity and to expand the utilization
of geothermal energy. These efforts will continue to be
strengthened through collaboration and ongoing research so
that the benefits can be widely felt by the community, he said.
Katrili contains silica and chitosan derived from the utilization
of abundant shrimp and crab shell waste in Indonesia. In
addition to helping reduce waste, the chitosan content in Katrili
also serves to protect plants and improve growth quality. To
use it, simply mix it with water and apply it directly to the soil,
adjusting the dosage according to soil characteristics and crop
type. Currently, Katrili has been applied to various crops, such
as Gustavi tomato varieties, batik beans, red onions, and rice.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Gadjah Mada
University (UGM), Prof. Ir. Selo, Ph.D., stated that universities
play a vital role in bridging the gap between research and the
implementation of technology in society. Therefore, the
development of Katrili serves as a concrete example of
energy-food integration, while also strengthening Indonesias
position in the development of new and renewable energy
amid global dynamics.
From the perspective of the supporting industry, CEO of PT
Agrotekno Estetika Laboratoris, Alexander H. Soeriyadi, sees
great potential in silica content for enhancing plant resilience
and crop yield quality. Meanwhile, the FT UGM research team
led by Dr. Pri Utami ensures that this innovation is based on a
multidisciplinary scientific approach, combining geology,
pharmacy, and agriculture to produce practical and sustainable
solutions.
Overall, the Katrili project demonstrates the strategic role of

with tangible impact through collaboration with industry. The
integrated utilization of geothermal energy with the agricultural
sector is a crucial step in promoting energy independence,
