SWID Strengthens Its Hospitality and MICE Business in Yogyakarta
Sleman, August 26, 2026 — PT Saraswanti Indoland Development Tbk (SWID) is strengthening its
hospitality and MICE business portfolio in Yogyakarta through two strategic milestones taking place
on August 27, 2026: the opening of The Royal Alana Yogyakarta, the Company’s five-star hotel, and
the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of new ballroom at INNSiDE by Meliá Yogyakarta.
The opening of The Royal Alana Yogyakarta and the development of new ballroom at INNSiDE by
Meliá Yogyakarta form part of SWID’s strategy to strengthen its hospitality business while creating
additional sources of recurring income for the Company. Both developments are expected to provide
sustainable contributions to SWID’s revenue through increased hotel operational activities and the
hosting of MICE events.
SWID’s President Director, Bogat Agus Riyono, stated that the potential of the hospitality and MICE
markets in Yogyakarta remains significant. “Yogyakarta is one of Indonesia’s most sought-after tourism
and MICE destinations after Bali. Its potential is substantial, and we see this opportunity as an important
part of SWID’s hospitality business growth. The Alana Yogyakarta currently offers MICE facilities with
a capacity of up to 3,000 pax and has 264 rooms. With the addition of The Royal Alana Yogyakarta,
which offers 219 rooms, we are optimistic that we will be able to accommodate the lodging needs
generated by MICE activities more optimally. We estimate that the combined revenue of The Alana
Yogyakarta and The Royal Alana Yogyakarta could increase by up to 50% from the existing revenue,
making the hospitality business an important source of recurring income for the Company and providing
a strong foundation for SWID to continue growing sustainably,” he said.
The addition of The Royal Alana Yogyakarta will also enable the Company to optimize synergies
between its MICE and accommodation businesses, as some of the accommodation demand generated
by MICE activities has previously been absorbed by surrounding hotels. Meanwhile, the new ballroom
at INNSiDE by Meliá Yogyakarta will expand the hotel’s MICE capacity and enable it to capture more
demand for large-scale events. The increase in MICE activities is expected to drive hotel occupancy,
average room rates, and revenue, while further strengthening SWID’s recurring income and enhancing
the value of its hospitality portfolio.
