Steps that have been taken and emission reductions that have been achieved compared to the previous year
Steps that have been taken and emission reductions that have been achieved compared to the previous year
1 Use of Environmentally Friendly Raw Materials
.SIG uses environmentally friendly materials sourced from industrial waste as a substitute for clinker usage. By
contributing to a reduction in the clinker factor, the use of environmentally friendly materials has made a
significant contribution to the Company's decarbonization efforts.
2 Use of Alternative Fuels
.SIG utilizes alternative fuels (refused derived fuel, biomass, and industrial waste) as substitutes for coal.
3 Energy Efficiency and Automation through the Installation of Advanced Process Controller (APC)
.The installation of APC improves production process efficiency by automatically regulating production process
variables, thus enhancing energy efficiency.
4 Use of Waste Heat Recovery Power Generator (WHRPG) and Renewable Energy (EBT)
.To reduce electricity consumption derived from conventional fuels/coal, SIG utilizes waste heat gases converted
into electricity through Waste Heat Recovery Power Generator (WHRPG), as well as solar panels (PLTS) and
hydroelectric power plants (PLTA and Pico-hydro).
In 2024, the Company successfully reduced scope 1 CO2 emission intensity, which refers to emissions from
internal processes, to 570 kgCO2 per ton cement equivalent from 585 kgCO2 per ton cement equivalent in 2023.
Meanwhile, scope 2 CO2 emission intensity, which refers to emissions from purchased electricity, was also
reduced to 56 kgCO2 per ton cement equivalent from 63.5 kgCO2 per ton cement equivalent.
